Back in California at an all-you-can eat Korean barbecue place a robot delivered the food to our table. It was pretty much just a rolling podium but it had a digital display face and cat ears, so that was pretty cool...

We also have one of those same kind of robots at a large Chinese restaurant, here in Mongolia of all places! Not really necessary to cut costs given the average wage here is lower, but given how some business owners are complaining that it's getting harder to find workers it seems they're simply planning ahead.

Given the way things are going with robots and the world in general, I have to wonder if that kinda cheesy but kinda fun 80's sci-fi movie "Cherry 2000" is predicting our future... no-go lawless zones, insane dating legal paperwork, robot girlfriends, etc.

That's what I've seen. I expect it can keep wage costs down, but those things will not be cheap.
