I think I had carnivorous plants on the brain because at the last house I was sitting, their son had some carnivorous plants in his room that I had to take care of. I didn't need to feed them bugs or anything, just distilled water. And, yeah, nature... DC Comics publishes a title Swamp Thing and one issue some botanist was explaining how the plant kingdom is the most violent thing in nature most people just don't recognize it because it acts so slowly. Then he talks about some vine that is slowly strangling a tree and will choke it and drain the life out of it over the course of two years. It's a sadistic little vine.
