Hi everyone! Metafactory contacted me to see if i was interested in teaming up with them to design a brand of apparel & to commission a piece from me. I of course accepted both offers!
If you want to know more about Metafactory and it´s upcoming projects, read this Medium article, and follow them on Twitter for updates.
THE COMMISSION
The MetaFactory team commissioned me a MetaFactory robot head anatomy, basically a vertical split of their logo with on one side their logo, and on the other side the "skull" of the robot head.
They gave me full creative freedom so I dusted off my animation tools and had a bit of fun on the piece. Let me know if you like how it turned out.
PROCESS
Here is a short video of the process.
D-tube link
I started by sketching some ideas with ink and wash, keeping them as small and loose as possible to explore a maximum of ideas in the shortest amount of time.
I then sketched all the assets with Photoshop, exported them to animate where I vectorized & colored them. I then built the animation composition and animated it.
All the different layers were then put together with Premiere, and a last round of optimizations was done with a combination of Premiere and Photoshop.
CRYPTOVOXELS
Go visit the MetaFactory build.
My MetaFactory Robot Head will soon be exhibited there!
APPAREL
I am developing ideas for the first apparel designs and would love to hear your feedback. All my T-shirts/hoodies will be AR enhanced, here are the first ideas I want to develop:
-Blue Jay design that transforms into am animated BlueJay skeleton when you AR it.
-Robot Head that opens in AR to reveal its inner mechanisms (similar to the MetaFactory piece)
-Skeleton (upper body) that animates as you AR it.
-Cyber Punk Skull, with its tech animated in AR.
That´s it for today, I hope you enjoyed my post & don´t hesitate to contact me if you have any question.
Have a nice day,
Skeenee!
