Here is a work in progress watercolor of a Mongolian falconer that my fiance is working on.
Here it is in its current state. She just wants to add some subtle sky to it and a bit more detail throughout.
This is the earliest photo I took of the process. Sadly I didn't get a process photo of the line drawing before the painting started.
Here she is coloring in some of the fur coat.
Now it just needs the tricky bird element colored in.
She used a really fine tipped paintbrush to color the whole work. Very detail oriented.
It took her a couple hours to color in the feathers. I think she still wants to add some more detail in the feathers.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
yes... lovely details
your fiance has a knack for art.
however, you forgot to tell us the inspiration behind this 😁
sounds like a mythical superhero that lived around some centuries ago
She loves Mongolian music and culture. We actually take morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) lessons from a guy from Mongolia who lives a few miles away. We also recently watched this movie hence the inspiration https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eagle_Huntress#:~:text=The%20Eagle%20Huntress%20follows%20the,%2C%20Mongolia%2C%20established%20in%201999.
I'll check out the movie some time
you guys reside in Ulan bataar?
never knew that.
The #HIVE community will be happy to see you guys together
Hahah no we are in Chicago there are quite a few Mongolians who live here as well and they know everyone back in Mongolia, even the people from that movie.
This is incredibly good! Very well refined and a super soft but crystal clear subtlety going on. Amazing detail.
I have no idea how she does this, just looks like lots of tiny little surgical painting to me.
amazing work 👍
Thanks for looking :-)
