its the total opposite of freedom. People are choosing to compensate posts as they see fit and give them montary value then someone 'supposedly' working to make hive better is coming along and taking them away. How is that free or fair? Where is he upvoting my 5 new ppl i bought along in the last couple of weeks? He even says he doesn't support any upcoming creatives at all.
We can do whatever we like. On Steemit some actions will get you censored. Smooth uses his votes on other things for now, his choice. Hive would be a cesspit without downvotes and I doubt you have seen much of the crap we have to deal with. Disagreement with rewards was there in the original Steem white paper as a reason for downvoting. Again, you have one from him!
Who are these people you introduced and those who lost rewards? Share their posts and maybe others can support them.
I don't want you to leave or discourage others. It is not as bad as you are making out.
I have never once had anything flagged or censored on steemit since these ppl left anyways. I love hive and the community but this one small group of ppl ruin it for everyone and sadly have a lot of power due to their delegations. Any critism or opinion they don't like and you'll get a flag, or if they mistakenly assume you plagiarised, ,or if they 'deem you to be getting to much for a post' My friends can do as they like but when i told them about it it's put them off for sure, they were more outraged than me ppl take your money away for no real reason and say it just seems off having a few ppl with so much influence as everyones not on a level playing field.
People actually abusing people is one thing, like racial attacks or abuse but witnesses taking away money from posts that others upvoted in good faith because they 'deem them not to be worthy' come on thats rly the final straw.
It was once! Will you complain about all the big votes you got for no obvious reason? How do you know they were sincere if there is no comment. Hive is what it is. It is not 'magic money'. It is people making some choice to support stuff, sometimes for their own benefit. You earning more means others get less, so is that fair?
I get what @smooth is doing, but it will drive some good people away. He's not taking all the rewards away though. I wish I could make $40 on a post :(
I can't keep up with all your comments. I saw something about your getting flagged for plagiarism. That was a mistake and I know Hivewatchers get it wrong at times, but it's one or two people fighting a flood of abuse. I have tried to help out with some cases because I give a shit. I get nothing for doing that. Then again we do not have some corporation running things who can just ban you on a whim.
Life is not fair, but it has to go on. Hive offers opportunities. Up to you if you take them.
you will never ever convince me a witness taking away votes that others gave from good heart is either a) moral or b) going to help this platform grow and get more regular contributors.
No I never complain about anyones upvotes, even the ppl i see regularly getting 100 dollars for what i consider to be waffle. Thats just my personal opinion and if others value them or that persons contributions to communities then thats up to them.
I've been flagged MULTIPLE times for plagiarism of my own art and they do not ask nicely they immediately accuse and flag every single thing you do and don't reply to any comments at all till you download discord and go in and add things to your twitter and instagtam account or website. I've had to do that multiple times too when they lost lists. I don't mind people asking thats fair enough, but they never ask they just put you on a flag list and accuse you of plagerising, rather than politely ask if its your work etc.
Some of my posts make 1 dollar and the materials paint and canvas cost 35 dollars + it's just nice to be able to get some creative freedom to have ppl enjoy your work and make some money back towards the materials even if they don't sell. I know the one that just happened to get a good vote was a salad but I have been adding to that community before hive was even forked. Who is he to deem it wasn't worth what people chose to give it.
also not true, me earning more means i can support my friends and give them more than a few c per post so they don't leave within two weeks since this guy isn't supporting them only his blockchain mates and flagging ppl.
I will stay around as i've met some rly cool people and communities here but it won't be getting my full focus and i definitely won't be pushing ppl to join anymore, whilst ppl like that are witnesses.
