May 4 is the day of Star war, actually I have not seen the whole saga, I remember that when I was only about 10 years old, I had a schoolmate from a very humble family, one day we had to perform a group work of At school, when we arrived at Freddy's house, he invited us to his room. My greatest surprise was that he had a large collection of original Star war toys. Of course, toys were in fashion at that time, many of them were very well cared for.
These toys today would be very valuable for a collector, as I remember they were original.
The last thing I heard about my friend Freddy is that he is an automotive engineer.
When I found out that May 4th was Star Wars Day, I tried to contact him to jokingly ask him if he still has that collection.
R2D2 was the character that most liked and attracted children of my time.
I remember that among friends we tried to imitate sounds similar to those emitted by R2D2.
At the time of the first film (Star Wars: Episode IV) talking about robots was something extremely innovative or futuristic, now talking about robotics is something normal and much more so in industrialized countries.
In fact in the first star wars movie R2D2 was just a suit piloted by a short person actor Kenny Bake of British origin who was 1.12cm tall. Actually I don't know if in the last movies where R2D2 appears he is already a true automaton.
This celebration attracts many people who are fans of everything that can surround the star war saga, I do not consider myself a fan of star war but I made this watercolor remembering that moment of my childhood and I wanted to share it with lovers of star war and in special with R2D2

El 4 de mayo es el día de Star war, en realidad no he visto toda la saga, recuerdo que cuando solo tenía unos 10 años, tenía un compañero de la escuela de una familia muy humilde, un día nos tocó actuar un trabajo grupal de la escuela, cuando llegamos a la casa de Freddy nos invito a su cuarto, mi mayor sorpresa fue que tenia una gran colección de juguetes originales de Star war, claro en ese momento estaban de moda los juguetes, muchos de ellos estaban muy bien cuidados.
Estos juguetes hoy serían muy valiosos para un coleccionista, según recuerdo eran originales.
Lo último que supe sobre mi amigo freddy es que es ingeniero automotriz.
Cuando yo me enteré que el pasado 4 de mayo era el día de star wars, he intentado contactar con él para preguntarle de forma jocosa si todavía tiene esa colección.
R2D2 era el personaje que más gustaba y atraía a los niños de mi época.
Recuerdo que entre amigos tratábamos de imitar sonidos similares a los emitidos por R2D2.
En la época de la primera película (Star Wars: episodio IV) hablar de robot era algo sumamente innovador o futurista, ahora hablar de robótica es algo normal y mucho más en los países industrializados.
De hecho en la primera película de star wars R2D2 era solo un traje pilotado por una persona de baja estatural actor Kenny Bake de origen británico quien medía 1.12cm de estatura., en realidad no se si en las últimas películas donde aparece R2D2 ya es un verdadero autómata.
Esta celebración atrae a mucha gente que es fan de todo lo que puede rodear a la saga star war, yo no me considero fan de star war pero hice esta acuarela recordando ese momento de mi infancia y quise compartirla con los amantes de star war y en especial con R2D2
