During the last consecutive holidays, I have been able to paint a rather good series of paintings for myself. When I was preparing for my solo exhibition in Tokyo, I was exhausted because I had no time to work on my paintings and prepare for the exhibition at the same time. After the holidays, I felt somewhat liberated and my paintings are getting better. I painted a picture that represented such a mood and named it "Rise". But my chronic illness is tricky, and I can't get too high. I will get depressed later and won't be able to paint anymore. I hope my current state of mind will continue.

先の連休中は、割と自分としては良い絵が連続して描けています。東京での個展の準備をしていた時は、時間がなく絵の制作と個展の準備を並行してやっていたのでへとへとでした。連休に入って、なんだか解放された気分になって、絵が良くなっていっています。そのような気分を表した絵を描いて「上り調子」と名付けました。ただ私の持病は厄介なことに、気分がハイになりすぎてもいけないんですね。あとで落ち込んで絵も描けなくなるからです。今の状態が続くといいなと思います。
