If the previous one I saw had details here, each line you made and combination of materials were extremely great here! I realize that empty spaces don't go with you... It's a beautiful message that you wanted to tell, along with the details and different effects that the materials you used make this a truly beautiful piece.
I love the volume you added with those thicker lines, you separated the background of the lady.
I used to have that problem when I used color that it was a bit tricky to draw with something else on top of that. it is as you say trial and error... but as in your case, solution and result-😉

But I like how you delved into the subject of life, creation, birth. Going beyond what someone can say when they see a pregnant woman, "she's just one more"
But what happens in that process? what does that entail? The bond that grows in both. There is a lot about that topic that is so beautiful it seems to me
