Yet, in partial defense for them, we live in a part of town that has one of those local 'Historical' labels placed upon it, which restricts alteration of exteriors with modern
materials/design...
My suspicion though, is that many owners use that as an excuse to not spend money for upkeep in this decaying City. Most of the large, old homes have been converted into multi-family units, owned by slumlords.
Sherri and Ed probably have that money hoarding disease. There's no mortgage left to pay, never had any children to support, etc. For all the complaining and fear they have about the neighborhood, I'm fairly certain they could well afford to have sold and moved a long time ago to a more peaceful location.
Has anything 'historical' happened in the town?

Unscrupulous Realtors in the area, are known to keep silent about the 'Historical' designation to prospective buyers. Unethical, yet not illegal… "Buyer Beware"
