It was a tough day for the blockchain team yesterday, even after we made a good effort winning some interesting games we were very close to qualify! better luck for the next one and I'm glad to see that some new players were encouraged to help the team.
I might take a break from these tournaments, I've been trying to score as many points as possible since the beginning and although this was probably my best tournament I think I need a break from chess, I'll come back next week with renewed energy.
Here are some of the games I played:
black vs vibidzdk
We started with a game where I was clearly at a disadvantage by rating, usually when I play these players I get the pressure but here I played an excellent game taking advantage of every mistake, very good victory that put me on the way.
black vs werkzeug
Very complicated, here I took advantage that my opponent used the berserk and he had little time left to add some very important points, every game you have to add and if we get a streak will have more chances to add 4 points instead of 2 so it is important to take advantage of these moments.
white vs hoppa
Many of these games had moments like that where my opponent used the berserk and I played aggressively and quickly to put the pressure on him, this is another of those games where I could make my game and add another 2 points to the balance.
My best game of the tournament, an extremely complicated position against another player who was far ahead of me in the ratings, I was able to control the pressure and transform a very good endgame into a victory, the most important also because my winning streak was active and here I added 4 points that served a lot for the team.
The team made a huge effort in this tournament but even so we couldn't pass, it was still one of the best tournaments I remember, we almost surpassed the 200 points mark and I think that should be our goal every time a league date is played, see you next week and I'm preparing some acquaintances to introduce them to Hive and play in these tournaments, they have a good level (above 2100) so I hope they can join!
