Sicilian Defense: Old Sicilian

This is another game from the Hive Chess Tournament last week. My opponent tried to played a line with an early Bc4 which can transpose to a number of different variations, like the Grand Prix Attack, but then he switched to the Open Sicilian after playing d4. I think the position is still ok for white after that, but not after playing 6. a4?! because that weakens the b4 spot which I very soon occupied with Bb4. Later on white sacrificed the central pawn but couldn't get any compensation, for what I think it was just a missed move. Black handled well every possible source of counterplay and converted comfortably.

Haha, to be honest, in my eyes watching that game was rather boring (you played very safe, but no special idea was required for the win) ...
Maybe that's actually my mistake: to lose 'boring' games like this one rather often (in my lightning games great moves regularly alternate with horrible plunders). :)

I will try to check your games more often in future!

Okay!
