Fork in chess is tactic move where you attack two or more chess pieces at same time. Many pieces can do fork such as pawn, knight, bishop, rook and queen. Here we are interested in knight forks. There are rewards for knight forks for Round 6 of Hivechess Season 21. Top 3 players with most forks in tournament gets 2 Hive each. Plus bonus 1 Hive for best fork. More about that later.
First lets talk a bit more about knight fork.
This is how knight for looks. The move that you want to see in your games. Knight to e7 will fork your opponents King and Queen. After that move you win your opponents Queen and game.
Sometimes fork moves are connected to more tactical moves. For example in this position white first plays Queen to h8 check.
Black has to capture the Queen and know it is time for knight.
Fork trap is set and in next move knight captures rook on f8 with fork.
This type of combination moves that end with fork are ones to be considered for the best fork move in this round.
One more similar fork. Here bishop takes on f7 and after King recaptures there is knight fork on e5.
Here fork includes two pieces but it may include more pieces at the same time. You may fork King, Queen and Rooks. Thats the fork.

How to get into for reward hun for Round 6 of S21.
Under this post you can comment with your fork positions after tournament is finished. It has to be knight fork. Add on which move it happened and game link to your knight fork.
Knight forks must be from Season 21 Round 6 Hivechess Tournament this Friday. No other games are accepted
Top 3 players with most forks get 2 Hive each.
In case of a tie the first player who posted is one to be ranked higher.
(example: 5 players with same number of knight forks - three first to post will be ranked higher)
Be fast and post your knight forks.
Best knight fork gets 1 Hive - number of pieces included, complexity play important role in selection.

Three day of chess in Saint Louis Chess club finished yesterday. Magnus Carlsen is the winner of 2025 Clutch Chess: Champions Showdown Interesting format with 4 players and win points increasing every day. First day it was 1 Point for win, second day 2 points and third day 3 points.
Other players that participated are Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura and Gukesh Dommaraju.
It was Rapid time control.
I saw this format for the first time and I think it is interesting and competitive.
Games are not long and in time pressure there are many blunders.
