Dear Chess fans,
in the third round of S7 we were 16 players, that mystical number again (in the last 10 rounds we had 7 times this number of players - how likely is that?). The time mode was 3 minutes with a relatively high increment of 3 seconds.
It was a close fight between @jaki01 and @burnoutawesome and at the end @burnoutawesome could get one point ahead and win this tournament.
But player of the match (if we would have this title😄) was @rodrook who was in a winning frenzy and made it to the third rank, in the middle between players with 500+ more ELO. Congratulations to his best result in Hivechess ever!

thAfter 3 rounds @jaki01 with a 10 point lead is still on the course to win this season. I could temporarily gain the second place (a rank where I have not been since quite a while), closely followed by @kreur. @burnoutawesome with his win today jumped from 0 directly to the 7 spot and also @rodrook and @lighteye made some nice gains in the ranking due to their good results today!

What do you think, who will win the FIDE World Cup 2021? Any likelihood that Magnus will NOT crush his competitors? For me it is a sure win for him.
Maybe the system simply wants me to practice playing with black. :-)I really don't get the Lichess pairing system: not long time ago I 'complained' always having black against @sawkito in Arena tournaments (I thought that would be because of his higher rating), but in the last tournament I myself had the highest rating, however, ... in all four games against the player with the second highest rating, @burnoutawesome, I got the black pieces.

Thanks for the mention @jaki01! and you're right about the evenness, Lichess has a horrible system for this that I still can't understand especially in the arena mode, I hope they can fix it soon because it would be nice to be balanced and fair for everyone.
