Excellent. And why not 1. Rad3 or 1. e6? Don't they work too?

They don´t work because
1.e6 is answered with 1...Re1+
1.Rad3 is answered with 1...Rf7 2.e6 Re1+ 3.Re2 Re2x 4.Ke2x g2
