This is a re-publication to update our reward scheme in partnership with the project hope community.
As regards our first goal, which is to add value to the hive blockchain, we have till date been working on expanding the content creation scope of the hive blockchain and building a healthy and sustainable community to contribute to the growth of hive and foster its regional expansion especially in the African region. We have set out the guidelines on genre of contents most suitable for the HiveAfrica community, this is in a bid to streamline contents created in the community and ensure that they are in line with the goals of the community, we encourage every member of the community to adhere to this specification.
To foster the regional growth of hive, our social media outreaches will not be specific to existing Hive users but centered on introducing hive to new users and onboarding new users to the hive platform. To do this, HiveAfrica will be following conversations outside the hive platform in a bid to introduce itself to as many non-users as possible, this will be done without spamming.
New interested content creators will be swiftly guided into the platform and shown the beauty of hive and Web 3.0. As the community progresses further, we will be reaching out to bigger populations via other higher throughput means.
Our second goal however have become a nut to crack. We have been working around the clock to device an attractive reward scheme for members to incentivize participation and add more value to contents created in our community. Inability to reward content creators have been a major factor mitigating the growth of the community. Currently, the project has very little options on how to tackle this, fortunately, there seems to be a breakthrough!
Announcing the HiveAfrica ‘Author tipping’ and reward scheme in partnership with project Hope community !
Due to low voting power, adopting the more popular ‘upvote’ as a means of rewarding content creators will be a very futile strategy as upvotes from the HiveAfrica account amounts to relatively nothing. While we hope to grow this with time, adopting an alternative means to reward content creators is paramount to this growth.
To tackle this, we have initiated ‘Author tipping’ as a temporal means of rewarding content creators.
The author tipping scheme utilizes the tipping feature on the hive blockchain . Using this, authors of qualified contents will be tipped a certain amount of Hive token or Hive backed dollar (depending on availability). This strategy is meant to last until the project accumulates a hive power enough to reward authors via voting.
It is noteworthy however that tip is not necessarily an estimation of the quality of the contents created but is subject to the availability of means of rewards. Means of tipping authors is basically from rewards gotten from posts on our community accounts.
We are working on making this initiative as transparent as possible and ensure community satisfaction.
Also, a part of our partnership with the project hope community, excellent contents by members of the HiveAfrica community will also earn upvotes from the project hope community.
Criteria for content eligibility for Tipping
- Contents must be originally posted on the HiveAfrica community, cross posts will not be considered for now. We hope to support cross-posts in the very near future.
- Contents must conform to community rules and Specific categories.
- Quality is a major factor considered before tipping, hence we advise that you keep the quality at its best
To add more value to qualified contents, we will also be re-posting them on our social media handle to gain more visibility and possibly rewards from impressed readers.
The HiveAfrica project is solely dedicated to helping its members grow as much as possible and encourage more participation as well as onboarding new members. We will always be in the pursuit of this goal.
