Are we rushing life or is life rushing us? Well, this is a deep question and the response depends on the angle we look at it.

On one hand, I will say that sometimes we rush life, which might be as a result of what we are supposed to achieve that we are yet to achieve. Seeing people making wealth, comfort, and recognition while we are yet to do so becomes a discouragement to us, and we tend to rush life. At times we even go extra miles to do anything just to achieve them. Mostly, peer influence and pressure make us rush life. But is it really bad to rush life? It all depends on understanding times and seasons. Even the Bible says that there is time for everything on earth. So understanding time will make you do what is supposed to be done at the right time instead of rushing it. Remember the rhyme we used to sing back then in our elementary school, “Tick says the clock, tick tick, what you have to do, do quick.” So at times we are not actually rushing life per se, but we should learn to understand timing.

On the other hand, we observe that life also rushes us. How? Responsibilities come up so suddenly, bills here and there, opportunities appear and disappear as fast as they could, and expectations from friends, family, and society at times also push us to rush a lot of things. In this case, one can say that life rushed them, which might be true. And the funny part of it is that life does not slow down for us because we are tired of rushing or because we want a break. But the crux of it all centers around understanding times and seasons, preparing and waiting for opportunity so that when it comes you grab it.

So to this end, nothing is rushing nobody, and nobody is rushing nothing. Life is gradually moving at its own pace and we are also moving at our own pace.

The real peace comes when we understand timing and know how to match our steps wisely. Slow down when there is need and move fast when the occasion demands.
