Ne Zha ~ POV / Review.

in The Anime Realm2 months ago

So Ne Zha 2 came out, and I totally enjoyed watching it, I actually saw it last night on my phone alongside my siblings, we were all lying on the bed, our heads bent over the tiny screen like our lives depended on it, I don’t know why, but there is something about watching movies in that close, cozy setting that makes it even more fun.

I had watched the first part of this Chinese animation sometime late last year, I still remember how hooked I was on the storyline about the so-called demon child who was born into the world with this prophecy hanging over his head, The whole idea was that Ne Zha was destined to bring chaos and destruction, and from birth, everyone already looked at him like trouble waiting to happen, The twist was that Ne Zha, being this rebellious, hot-headed kid, was actually just trying to live his life, even though people constantly judged him for something he did not even do yet.

What made Ne Zha 1 really stick for me was the mix of humor, action, and deep emotion, Ne Zha’s relationship with his parents really hit hard, especially his mom, who loved him unconditionally even though she knew what people said about him, The fight scenes? Oh, those were so beautifully animated , I think that is when I realized Chinese animation was not here to play, A
and then that ending where Ne Zha had to face his fate head-on. My heart did a little backflip.

Fast forward to Ne Zha 2, and wow… I did not even expect it to be even more intense, the animation quality was insane crisp, colorful, and so fluid, this time, the story takes us deeper into Ne Zha’s journey, now that he is fully aware of his powers and his destiny, He’s still the same sassy, bold, and reckless kid we know, but there is a bit more maturity in how he handles things, You can tell he is not just fighting against what people think of him anymore, now he is fighting for something bigger.

One thing I really liked in this sequel was how they expanded the universe, We got to see more mythical creatures, more magic, and way more action sequences that just had me grinning like a fool, also, the humor is still there, Ne Zha’s sarcastic comebacks had me and my siblings laughing out loud, and trust me, that is not easy when you are all tired from the day.

But what hit differently in Ne Zha 2 was the emotion, there were moments where you could see the weight of responsibility starting to sink in for him, it’s like, yeah, he’s this super-powerful being, but he is also just a kid trying to figure himself out. And those moments where the “flame” of determination burned in his eyes? That just reminded me why I loved the first movie so much. Ne Zha isn’t perfect, but his fire that drive to push against fate, is what makes him unforgettable.

By the time the final battle scene came, I was already holding my breath. The choreography, the colors, the sound tracks, it all came together in a way that made me feel like I was right there in the middle of it, and without giving away spoilers, I will just say this ,the ending left me satisfied but also curious for what’s next.

Honestly, Ne Zha 1 and Ne Zha 2 are perfect examples of why Chinese animation deserves more hype, they don’t just tell stories; they pull you into a world where myth meets emotion, where action meets heart, and for me, that is what makes them worth watching over and over again.

Okay so now I am just here wondering… if there is going to be a Ne Zha 3, I am definitely clearing my schedule the day it drops.
