I must clarify that I was pleasantly surprised to see this anime, I did not expect me to like it so much, perhaps it is due to my love of cats but the point is that this animation is beautiful in many aspects.
The story can be considered the typical youth love story but it has a little more. Muge is a girl who is obsessed with a boy named Hinode, both are quite different since Muge is eccentric, crazy and overflowing with happiness and Muge is cautious, discreet and not very talkative so the boy always rejects Muge in different ways.
Debo aclarar que me lleve una grata sorpresa al ver este anime, no me esperaba a que me gustara tanto, quizás sea debido a mi afición a los gatos pero el punto es que esta animación es hermosa en muchos aspectos.
La historia puede ser considerada el típico relato juvenil de amor pero tiene un poco más. Muge es una chica que está obsesionada con un chico llamado Hinode, ambos son bastante diferentes puesto que Muge es excéntrica, alocada y rebosa de felicidad y Muge es cauteloso, discreto y poco hablador por lo que el chico siempre rechaza a Muge de distintas maneras.
One day a cat-shaped mask merchant offers Muge the opportunity to transform into a beautiful kitten to evade her reality. Muge had many internal conflicts that began to damage her emotionally having constant attacks of anger with her family and besides, Hinode's rejections did not do her any good. Muge ultimately accepts the deal and the first thing she does when she transforms into a cat is go visit Hinode.
Hinode is impressed with that cat and gives her all the love that she did not give to Muge herself, so this girl begins to visit her lover every day but in the form of a cat. The story is gradually wrapped up in a fantasy that reminded me a bit of the little mermaid due to the fact that the mask merchant asks her for her face and life in exchange for transforming herself into a cat forever, which Muge found it difficult to accept.
Un día un comerciante de máscaras con forma gatuna le ofrece la oportunidad a Muge de transformarse en una hermosa gatita para evadir su realidad. Muge tenía muchos conflictos internos que empezaron a dañarla emocionalmente teniendo ataques de ira constantes con su familia y aparte los rechazos de Hinode no le hacían bien. Muge al final acepta el trato y lo primero que hace cuando se transforma en gata es ir a visitar a Hinode.
Hinode queda impactado con esa gata y le brinda todo el amor que no le brindaba a la propia Muge asi que esta chica empieza a visitar a su amado cada día mas pero en forma de gata. La historia poco a poco se ve envuelta en una fantasía que me recordó un poco a la sirenita por el hecho de que el comerciante de máscaras le pide su cara y vida a cambio de transformarse para siempre en gata, cosa que a Muge le costó aceptar.
Muge's love for Hinode is pure but quite unbalanced, this girl is obsessed and sometimes loses her dignity just by attracting the attention of the boy she likes. There are many things we can do for love but everything must have a limit and I think that for Muge that word does not exist. Sometimes this girl becomes a bit cloying and irritating, embarrassing others.
After all this madness, the truth is that a fantasy world begins where Muge enters the world of cats. I found this part very interesting because I saw that there are certain Studio Ghibli influences in these scenes. The fanciful and mysterious look giving us an aura of uniqueness is something I felt when these characters entered this world.
The mask merchant, a fat and ugly cat, is little by little doing his thing. In the cat world, where there is a sacred tree, Muge manages to meet many cats who were almost in pain because they were humans who sold their faces to be able to transform permanently and for various reasons. Here we can observe the multiple problems that these characters have, especially family members.
El amor de Muge hacia Hinode es puro pero bastante desequilibrado, esta chica esta obsesionada y pierde a veces su dignidad por solo llamar la atención del chico que le gusta. Hay muchas cosas que podemos hacer por amor pero todo debe tener un límite y creo que para Muge esa palabra no existe. A veces esta chica llega a resultar un poco empalagosa e irritante, dando vergüenza ajena.
Luego de todo esta locura lo cierto es que empieza un mundo de fantasía en donde Muge entra en el mundo de los gatos. Esta parte me pareció muy interesante porque vi que hay ciertas influencias del Studio Ghibli en estas escenas. El aspecto fantasioso y misterioso dándonos un aura de unicidad es algo que sentí cuando estos personajes entran en este mundo.
El comerciante de máscaras, un gato gordo y feo poco a poco va haciendo de las suyas. En el mundo gatuno, donde hay un árbol sagrado, Muge logra conocer a muchos gatos que andaban casi en pena porque fueron humanos que vendieron su cara para poder transformarse definitivamente y por diversas razones. Aquí podemos observar los múltiples problemas que tienen estos personajes sobre todo familiares.
A beautiful message that this film gives us is that Muge realizes that she is really loved by many and but her blindness did not make her see that reality. At that moment, she regrets becoming a cat while Hinode comes to her rescue. Of course all this sounds like a huge cliché and it really is, we see things in this movie that we can already be almost tired of seeing but the story handles them in its own way.
The powerful soundtrack gets more aggressive as the characters begin to arrive in the cat world, that is to say to the rescue of Muge. Here things get a bit epic and friendship and love against the egoism of the merchant fight each other.
Un mensaje hermoso que nos brinda esta película es que Muge se da cuenta de que realmente es querida muchos y pero su ceguera no la hacía ver esa realidad. En ese momento se arrepiente de convertirse en gata a la vez que Hinode va en su rescate. Por supuesto todo esto suena a un enorme cliché y de verdad que lo es, vemos cosas en esta película que ya podemos estar casi cansadas de verlas pero la historia las maneja a su manera.
La potente banda sonora se pone más agresiva cuando los personajes empiezan a llegar al mundo gatuno, es decir al rescate de Muge. Aquí las cosas se ponen un poco épicas y la amistad y el amor en contra del egoísmo del comerciante luchan entre si.
This is not the most original anime movie I have seen but to be honest I don't know why I love it so much if it is something I have seen many times. Maybe it's the cute cat, maybe it's Muge's madness but the truth is that this animation is beautiful in many ways besides the visual. The story is subtle, set in two halves, reality and fantasy, which merge to give us a complete story that can captivate us and also make us feel sad at times. Many of us have experienced a similar situation and I am not referring to Hinode's rejection of Muge but to family problems that cause us to have conflicts and traumas within us, but Muge at the end of all this knew how to learn a valuable lesson.

Esta no es la película más original que he visto de anime pero siendo honesta no sé porque me encanto tanto si es algo que he visto muchas veces. Quizás sea el tierno gato, quizás sea la locura de Muge pero lo cierto es que esta animación es hermosa en muchos aspectos además del visual. La historia es sutil, ambientada en dos mitades, realidad y fantasía, que se fusionan para darnos una historia completa que puede cautivarnos y también hacernos sentir tristes en algunas ocasiones. Muchas de nosotras hemos vivido una situación similar y no me refiero al rechazo de Hinode hacia Muge sino de problemas familiares que hacen que tengamos conflictos y traumas en nuestro interior pero Muge al final de todo esto supo aprender una valiosa lección.

Amé como describiste este anime, el tipo de descripción que sí o sí te da ganas de ver. Al inicio cuando pusiste las primeras fotos también sentí influencia de studio ghibli, pero no lo neguemos: Studio ghibli tiene una gran influencia en el mundo del anime y su precursión hacía el salto global.
