There are series that can easily go unnoticed and be quite good, Cells at Work! Code Black, is one of them, so I bring this review to encourage you to watch it if you have not yet done so.

This adaptation is a spin-off of the original series, which has two seasons, you can start watching this one or just opt for Code Black which has only 13 episodes. Both are based on the manga by Akane Shimizu, who takes us inside the human body to see how cells work in different circumstances.

The uniqueness of this short series is that the body is in a bad state, which makes the cells work tirelessly to solve the ills of its bearer. This leads the main characters to overcome many dangers, risk their lives and even die in order to fulfill their mission.

The main character is an erythrocyte (red blood cell) and a white blood cell, each of them with different functions, but that help each other in several opportunities, in order to heal the body's ailment at that moment.

I particularly liked it a lot because of the environment in which the story develops, each chapter is unique and interesting, and best of all, in my opinion, is that the characters are well developed, in just 13 chapters you can enjoy the progress in the character of the two main characters and some others that also have a lot of weight in the plot.

The series leads us to think about the characteristics of work, to be responsible despite the situation we may be living. For example the Erythrocyte, starts as a rookie, and as he makes his rounds he gains experience, but more than that, it is the terrible situations that make him mature, just as it happens to us in everyday life.

An erythrocyte is in charge of carrying oxygen to all the cells of the body, and a white blood cell is in charge of fighting against all kinds of bacteria, so we have quite a few fights inside the body, with some white blood cells represented by beautiful swordswomen, who risk their lives in the battles.

It is definitely an excellent story, I have not seen the main series, I just decided to watch this one and I was fascinated. The story has a lot of drama, action, fatal outcomes, and above all it is extremely educational, I was even able to learn several things I didn't know about the cells of my body.

Fortunately I don't smoke or live under stress, so I guess my body cells don't suffer so much, but the author's idea, in a way, is to make people aware of how much the body suffers when we are irresponsible in the way we live. I highly recommend it, it is short, with a clear message, and the adaptation is certainly quite enjoyable, so let's get to it.

Cells at Work!

I did watch the main anime but not this spin off, I understand this one was much bloodier due to the cells being in a bad body. It caught my attention but I didn't get to see it, maybe someday I'll take a look at it.

It is precisely as you indicate. This one is bloodier and has a very good ending. I hope you can see it, it's worth it

Hello, thank you very much. It is a pleasure for me to publish my content in this community. Thanks for the suggestions

I had never heard of “Cells at Work! Code Black”, but from what you say, it sounds like a super original series. I'm struck by the fact that the body is in such a bad state and how the cells have to fight against everything. Good review!

Believe me, I didn't know of its existence either, and then finding out it has many installments, so there is good material to keep you entertained.

I really like these kinds of action animes. I usually like to watch the latest animes and those animes that are full of action. Your anime looks like it has a lot of action and interesting. I will try to watch this anime. Thanks for sharing it with us.

It is totally different from what we are used to seeing. So I hope you can enjoy it, because it has plenty of action, but there are other very interesting elements.

Thank you 😊
