One Piece is back and with one of the most action-packed chapters so far this year, after a little more than two weeks in which there were no manga chapters due to Oda suddenly getting sick (although she is already much better), One Piece is back starring on the cover of Shonen Jump, where we can see Luffy along with Yamato, which finally shows us the colors of this character and really looks pretty good, besides starring the cover, this week's chapter has a beautiful color page which we can see the entire Straw Hats Crew riding a train.
But without more, the review of the One Piece chapter.
One Piece 992 "Remnats", begins by showing us Big Mom, PerosPeros and Marco together right at the entrance of the island. PerosPero discusses with Big Mom her alliance with Kaido, since he is not sure of that alliance, but Big Mom tells him to trust her, although from PerosPeros' look it seems that he is not convinced of his answer. Marco intervenes in the conversation and tells PerosPero that because Big Mom refuses to break his alliance with Kaido, the plan of the two of them, which was to eliminate the Numbers, will no longer be carried out. Let's remember that Big Mom and Kaido have an alliance in order to find the One Piece and crown himself as the King of the Pirates, however, with what Big Mom said in this chapter, it seems that she is plotting some kind of betrayal. Big Mom turns to Marcos and discriminates against him for allying with the "young pirates"; but Marco responds by telling him that since Whitebeard's death, they are free to do whatever they want. On that same page, we see Carrot going to where PerosPero is to take revenge, since he was the cause of the death of Pedro, his master, and in the same way we see Luffy running, who goes to the top of the giant skull to meet Kaido. These first pages of the chapter are the ones with more dialogue, but most of them are full of action.
In the next page we change the scene and in a small vignette they show us Shibonu together with Mononosuke running away from Yamato, in a funny little scene of the chapter, since these characters still distrust Yamato, but part of this page is starred by Black Maria, who is surrounded by other women who ask them to sing a song, so Black Maria starts singing a song about two lovers who meet in the moonlight (let's remember that the moon is a very important symbolism in Wano).
Parallel to this, while Black Maria is singing, they change the scene once again and show us the battle between Kaido and the Nine Red Scabbards, in a beautiful double page, where all the disciples of Oden are on one side, and on the other page is Kaido in her dragon form, face to face for the clash of the final battle.
As I said before, from this moment the chapter is full of action, each one of the Nine Red Scabbards makes an attack towards Kaido, each one of them causing damage to Kaido, showing why before dying, Oden said not to underestimate his Samurai and this chapter is a sample of Oden's words.
In the last two pages of the chapter, we are shown a small flashback from Oden where he shows us that he wanted to teach them his best technique, which consists of an attack performed with two swords, which is the same attack that caused the wound to Kaido in the past, leaving him the only scar this powerful character has. We see how Kin'emon, Denjiro, Ashura Doji and Inuarashi, prepare to perform the attack and although Kaido prepares his attack, the samurai are faster and impact the attack called "Togen Totsuka", in the same place where Oden did in the past, ending the chapter.
What an excellent chapter this week, chapter which was full of action and where we see a Kaido being beaten by all the Nine Red Scabbards, even making the same wound in the same place that Oden left him in the past. And although I am sure that Kaido will have his counter attack, since I doubt very much that he will be defeated so easily, this was a small sample of the power of the samurai, but it is also the announcement of one or some possible deaths of the Nine Red Scabbards. Luckily next week there will be a chapter, so let's hope they show us the continuation of this battle.
