El protagonista de nuestra historia es Shinichi, un adolescente completamente normal. Una noche, un extraño ser entró en las manos de Shinichi y tomó vida propia. The protagonist of our story is Shinichi, a completely normal teenager. One night, a strange being entered Shinichi's hands and took on a life of its own. His fingers turned into eyes and knives, and a mouth appeared on the palm of his hand. Now Shinichi has to live with this strange alien living in his right hand, but the funny thing is that "Migi" is not the only parasite on the loose in the world.
La premisa de la serie es muy interesante. Los extraterrestres devoradores de humanos se escondieron entre nosotros, crearon sus propias sociedades y masacraron a toda la población de la Tierra sin que nos diéramos cuenta. Como fanático de las escenas cyberpunk y de ciencia ficción (y amante de las historias que combinan terror, elementos psicológicos y misterio), Parasyte es claramente muy atractivo. The premise of the series is very interesting. Human-eating aliens hid among us, created their own societies and slaughtered the entire population of Earth without us even realizing it. As a fan of cyberpunk and sci-fi scenes (and a lover of stories that combine horror, psychological elements and mystery), Parasyte is clearly very engaging. I'm happy to say that I'm very pleased with what this series has given me.

The plot progression isn't particularly unique, in fact it's the kind of story we've seen several times before. The anime, however, knows how to handle the elements it needs to work in a very clever way. The mysteries build gradually, and instead of bombarding you with twists and turns and killing off important characters for no reason, the series carefully chooses when to change things up. So one person is always on the prowl, and each character acts individually in this war between the two species.

The series effectively combines action, mystery and well-crafted dialogue, moving at an incredible speed that makes it hard to stop watching. None of the characters are presented as specifically good or evil. The parasites eat humans to survive, and the humans want to survive. It makes perfect sense that both sides come face to face.

The human theme is another real strength of the presentation of the content of the series. It's not so much what happens to us that the people we meet in our lives have a real impact on the way we think, our moral values, our thoughts and the way we view others. It is also a story of redemption and learning to understand the motives of others and the logic and beliefs of those who are in conflict with us, which alone does not prevent conflict.

Still, the story of the series is great. The action is handled very well, the horror and suspense elements are clearly used, the comedy, the richness of the subject matter is amazing and the dynamic between the characters is also very well achieved.
Hay mucha gente a la que no le gustó Parasyte.
Para muchos, la serie perdía el foco con demasiada frecuencia y se arrastraba a si misma a un agujero, teniendo que cargar con personajes blandos y poco interesantes y con una presentación que no era particularmente espectacular.
A muchos frustró los agujeros narrativos, los últimos episodios y la falta de trasfondo para la invasión de parásitos.
Pero haciendo retrospectiva, y después de haber escuchado todas estas críticas, no puedo sino alabar a Parasyte.
Es algo nuevo, fresco, que trae movimiento a una industria que lleva tiempo estancada. Por supuesto que no es perfecto, pero nunca vi un anime que hiciese todo absolutamente bien.
Parasyte es bueno, quizás incluso una obra maestra, y si es capaz de hacerme pensar, con acción adrenalínica y temas inteligentes, le dedicó unos muy fuertes aplausos.
There are a lot of people who didn't like Parasyte. For many, the series lost focus too often and dragged itself into a hole, being saddled with bland, uninteresting characters and a presentation that wasn't particularly spectacular. Many were frustrated by the narrative holes, the last few episodes and the lack of backstory for the parasite invasion. But in retrospect, and having heard all these criticisms, I can only praise Parasyte.
It's something new, fresh, bringing movement to an industry that has long been stagnant. Of course it's not perfect, but I've never seen an anime that did everything absolutely right. Parasyte is good, maybe even a masterpiece, and if it's able to make me think, with adrenaline-pumping action and intelligent themes, I dedicate some very strong applause to it.
