Hello everyone, have you ever wondered why Gojo Satoru covers his eye throughout Jujutsu Kaisen, there are few times he opened his eyes but not much, I thought of that so many times when I was watching the season 1 of Jujutsu kaisen, but when they're explaining some of his powers in the season 2, I noticed some important facts.
LETS START
We all know that Gojo Satoru is considerably the strongest character in Jujutsu Kaisen at the moment (According to the animations produced so far, from season 1 and 2 and let's not consider the manga). He is a member of the Gojo family. The Gojo family is one of the most powerful families in JJK. So he is the only member to be able to inherit the family most powerful power, "The Limitless". Moreover, he also inherited a jujutsu technique called the "Six Eyes". These two powers brought about a revolution to the sorcerer world and a shift in powers between sorcerers.
LIMITLESS AND SIX EYES
Before I moved to the reason why he always close his eyes, I would like to talk more about his powers, even if it's a little bit.
The Limitless technique is a very powerful technique that maintains a finite distance between the user and the enemy to be infinity. To be able to understand this technique, think about taking a small portion between you and somebody and divide it to infinity. So the closer the enemy gets, the harder it is to move. So this technique allows it for the user to manipulate space around him.
Gojo uses this limitless technique a lot, but the evident one was against Jogo in season 1 against Hanami in season 2 and in other battles. The battles were intense.
Moving on to the Six Eyes. The six eyes is a very powerful technique that is even rare for someone in Gojo family to have, a gift which was inherited by Gojo himself. The six eyes technique enables him to see the flow of cursed energy from afar and near. Due to the powers, he can differentiate between cursed energy and categorizes the user based on that. Even if the cursed energy is in a crowded place, he'll be able to sense it. If he's fighting an enemy, he'll be able to see the type of power and technique the person have, and all will be revealed to him. This makes his access the person before even fighting him. Think about the sharingan in Naruto.
SO WHY DOES HE COVER HIS EYES ?
I have two reasons.
First, According to the scenes I've seen so far, he only removes his blindfold whenever he's getting serious during a fight, remember the time when he used infinite void with Jogo in season 1 and other scenes. So I came up with this first reason. The blindfold he uses reduces the amount of energy spent, and only removes it when he's required to use his full power.
The second reason why he wears his blindfolds because of his "Six Eyes". We know that Gojo eyes is like a hypersensitive camera which can see long distances and senses the environment at a particular radius. So that means that he receives substantial information from the environment at regular intervals. If he opens his eyes for too long, the information he receives will be too much and which may cause sensory overload. So his heightened senses easily drains him quickly and make him tire completely when his eyes are open for too long.
