When Maomao appears on screen, it's easy to notice all her intelligence and experience, and her nonchalant-dismissive attitude towards things she really feels are none of her business. I consider her to be a rather unique protagonist, we'll see her entire journey in the imperial palace, and how she increasingly stands out among the others for her wit. Unlike many other anime protagonists, Maomao's motivations are very much tied to her thirst for knowledge, having a more human and realistic approach.... Her flaws make her very human, she can be a genius, but she also makes mistakes and commits recklessness, as any other person would do, this makes the viewer can quickly feel a connection with her.

Hola amigos amantes del anime, espero se encuentren súper bien el día de hoy! Yo me encuentro bien, Gracias a Dios. El día de hoy les quiero hablar de un anime bastante único en su tipo, ha sido de mis favoritos de la temporada pasada de anime, y ha conseguido acaparar mucha atención entre los fanáticos de este medio. Yo al principio tenía mis dudas, sentía que toda la atmosfera de la cultura antigua china sería aburrida o tediosa, menos mal decidí darle una oportunidad, me ha sorprendido gratamente. Me sentí totalmente cautivado por una historia que combino perfectamente el misterio, el humor y una de las mejores protagonistas que he visto, con la que me encariñe muy fácilmente.Cuando Maomao aparece en pantalla, es fácil notar toda su inteligencia y experiencia, y su actitud indiferente-descarada hacia cosas que realmente siente que no le incumben. Considero que es una protagonista bastante única, veremos todo su viaje en el palacio imperial, y como cada vez más destaca entre los demás por su ingenio. A diferencia de muchos otros protagonistas del anime, las motivaciones de Maomao están muy ligadas a su sed de conocimiento, teniendo un enfoque más humano y realista.. Sus defectos la hacen muy humana, puede ser una genio, pero también se equivoca y comete imprudencias, como cualquier otra persona lo haría, esto hace que el espectador pueda sentir rápidamente una conexión con ella.
This series stands out a lot for its incredible ability to keep you glued, using the intrigues at the end of each chapter.... (They are lucky that it has already ended, in my case I had to wait every week to find out what happened haha). The comic moments, and the different interactions between our protagonist with the other characters (quite eccentric) give you a sense of calm and freshness ideal to relax for a while, especially the relationship between Maomao and Jinshi is very entertaining to watch, they give it their funny touches, but they know very well how to recover the tension when this is necessary for the plot.
The creators of this work perfectly created a very well developed world, with a great animation, giving a plus to all this. The animation is quite attractive, it's great the attention to detail, and historical accuracy... From the sets, the costumes, the cultural references... everything is meticulously crafted, making you learn things about ancient Chinese culture that can be very interesting... They introduce you completely in this world where traditions are one of the most important things for everyone, it has managed to bring very well the respect for the historical contexts, along with the mix of fiction that increases the suspense, giving you a very well elaborated script...

Esta serie destaca mucho por su increíble capacidad para mantenerte pegado, usando las intrigas al final de cada capítulo.. Haciendo que estés esperando constantemente o adivinando saber qué pasara. (Tienen suerte de que haya finalizado ya, en mi caso tenía que esperar cada semana para saber qué pasaba jaja). Los momentos cómicos, y las diferentes interacciones entre nuestra protagonista con los demás personajes (bastante excéntricos) te dan una sensación de calma y frescura ideal para relajarte un rato, especialmente la relación entre Maomao y Jinshi es muy entretenida de ver, le dan sus toques graciosos, pero saben muy bien recuperar la tensión cuando esto es necesario para la trama.Los creadores de esta obra crearon a la perfección un mundo muy bien desarrollado, con una gran animación, dándole un plus a todo esto. La animación es bastante atractiva, es genial la atención que tienen al detalle, y a la precisión histórica.. Desde los decorados, el vestuario, las referencias culturales.. todo está meticulosamente elaborado, haciendo que aprendas cosas de la cultura antigua china que pueden ser muy interesantes.. Te introducen completamente en este mundo donde las tradiciones son de las cosas más importantes para todos, ha logrado llevar muy bien el respeto por los contextos históricos, junto con la mezcla de ficción que aumenta el suspenso, dándote un guion muy bien elaborado..

It is good to see how each case that is presented in the course of the story, tests all the intellect of Maomao, so he has to use his incredible ability of observation and analysis, which leaves viewers delighted, and glued watching what will be the result of their deductions, the series carried out this intrigue very well, without falling into clichés, this very presents the entire narrative with politics, the kingdom in general, creating a story with several layers that entertains a lot.
The supporting cast, is not bad either.. although the one that gets most of the applause is the protagonist, the other characters are very well developed too.. each one has their own motivations, desires and ambitions, this adds a lot of depth to the story, it's interesting to see the relationships of the Concubines with Maomao, the stories of the past of these women.. I think all of that is quite complex, but interesting.. you see all the good and bad things about the palaces, the occasional conspiracy.. all of this with a lot of cleverness. It was really fun to see the dynamics between the concubines, and how each one starts to relate to Maomao, giving us emotional and funny scenes, this specific aspect shows all the balance of power in the kingdom, and the trust they have for the Concubines, and of course, all the respect the emperor has.

Es muy divertido ver la genial destreza investigadora de Maomao, su increíble habilidad para desentrañar misterios complejos gracias a sus grandes conocimientos sobre venenos, y demás informaciones boticarias que siempre resultan de mucha utilidad.. Es bueno ver como cada caso que se va presentando en el transcurso de la historia, pone a prueba todo el intelecto de Maomao, por lo que ha de tener que usar su increíble habilidad de observación y análisis, que deja a los espectadores encantados, y pegados viendo cuál será el resultado de sus deducciones, la serie llevo a cabo esto de las intrigas muy bien, sin necesidad de caer en clichés, esta muy presenta la narrativa entera con la política, el reino en general, creando una historia con varias capas que entretiene mucho.El elenco de secundarios, no está nada mal tampoco.. aunque la que se lleva la mayoría de aplausos es la protagonista, los demás personajes están muy bien desarrollados también.. cada uno tiene sus propias motivaciones, deseos y ambiciones, esto añade mucha profundidad a la historia, es interesante ver las relaciones de las Concubinas con Maomao, las historias del pasado de estas mujeres.. Creo que todo eso es bastante complejo, pero interesante.. se ve todas las cosas buenas y malas de los palacios, alguna que otra conspiración.. todo esto con mucha astucia. Era muy divertido ver la dinámica entre las concubinas, y como cada una empieza a relacionarse con Maomao, dándonos escenas emotivas y divertidas, este aspecto en específico muestra todo el equilibrio de poder en el reino, y la confianza que se tienen a las Concubinas, y por supuesto, todo el respeto que tiene el emperador.
As I mentioned before, visually it is amazing. It's one of those anime that has very few flaws, all the vibrant colors, backgrounds and music serve to take you on a very satisfying journey to ancient China. There are many scenes with flowing moments that are great to watch, such as dances, and other activities.. with some very cute character designs as well, that perfectly show the beauty that the nobles exude. (Especially Jinshi, he's a daddy haha). This anime is amazing, I love to give opportunities to works, without knowing anything, and end up surprising me, is what I love about this entertainment medium. The soundtrack is also incredible, its Openings and Endings are extremely good, the first one was undoubtedly very viral, the song is beautiful, I personally like the second one more, it's my favorite, and I already added it to my playlist. If you want to see an excellent protagonist, intelligent, determined, but not falling into arrogance, no doubt you will love Maomao, she is unique.
If you are also looking for a complex plot, related to politics, kingdoms, etc, you will also find it here. It is an incredible mix of humor, mystery and intrigue, with its good doses of historical teachings, for fans of China, or Chinese culture, whether ancient or current, I highly recommend it. It deserves all the support and recognition it has been getting, anxiously awaiting its second season.... Although it has a manga, I'm not much of a reader of these, so I will wait patiently to see this animated story again, with the incredible quality that I'm sure (and hope) they will. I give it a good 9/10. Cementing its place as one of the best anime of last year, a gem. I hope you liked this review, take care.

Como les había comentado, visualmente es increíble. Es de esos animes que tienen muy pocos fallos, todos los vibrantes colores, fondos y música, sirven para llevarte por un viaje a la antigua china muy satisfactorio. Hay muchas escenas con momentos fluidos que son geniales de ver, como bailes, y demás actividades.. con unos diseños de personajes también muy lindos, que muestran a la perfección la belleza que desprenden los nobles. (En especial Jinshi, es un papucho jaja). Este anime es increíble, me encanta darle oportunidades a obras, sin saber nada, y que terminen sorprendiéndome, es de lo que me encanta de este medio de entretenimiento. La banda sonora también es increíble, sus Openings y Endings son sumamente buenos, el primero sin duda fue muy viral, la canción es hermosa, a mi personalmente me gusta más el segundo, es mi favorito, y ya lo añadí a mi playlist. Si quieres ver a una excelente protagonista, inteligente, decidida, pero que no cae en la soberbia, sin duda amaras a Maomao, es única.Si buscas también una trama compleja, relacionada con política, reinos, etc, también la encontrarás aquí. Es una increíble mezcla de humor, misterio e intriga, con sus buenas dosis de enseñanzas históricas, para los fanáticos de china, o la cultura china, sea antigua o actual, se los recomiendo enormemente. Merece todo el apoyo y reconocimiento que ha estado teniendo, esperando ansiosamente su segunda temporada.. Aunque tiene un manga, no soy mucho de leer estos, por lo que esperaré pacientemente a volver a ver esta historia animada, con la increíble calidad que seguramente (y espero) lo harán. Le doy un buen 9/10. Consolidando su lugar como uno de los mejores animes del año pasado, una joya. Espero que les haya gustado esta reseña, cuídense mucho.

este es uno de los animes que más me ha gustado recientemente, no solo por su animación sino la misma temática, Mao Mao es genial y a su vez loca por los venenos jaja pero sabe lo que hace.! Excelente post!

También es uno de mis animes favoritos de la temporada pasada, o bueno, del año pasado en sí. Me gusta más por el personaje de Maomao que es una de esas pocas protagonistas con las que te puedes encariñar, a pesar de tener una personalidad única y un tanto misteriosa y muy divertida.
Lo que más me gusta también es la perfecta combinación que tiene de drama, psicología y comedia que maneja este anime. También, la animación es espectacular y le da un plus increíble, la verdad. Y otra cosa que agregar también es la historia y el desarrollo de cada uno de los personajes que nos presentan. Esto es algo que no se ve mucho en animes populares.
Yo le doy un 9/10.

Este anime es buenisimoooo. Es increible como la historia te atrapa en sus primeros capitulos, cuando me di cuenta ya estaba adicto. El como presenta ciertas realidades de la época, los misterios y el como Maomao los resuelve es fabuloso, muchas de las veces ni yo me daba cuenta de que pasaba.
