I love that you brought up the struggle over what justice really is and what happens when a human gains unlimited power. It is the heart of the series. Many people, at first, wonder: Is Light doing something good by clearing the world of criminals? But, as you say, power corrupts him and turns him into what he was supposedly trying to eliminate: a tyrant. It's fascinating to see that psychological transformation. I couldn't agree with you more, the dynamic between Light and L is the jewel in the crown. It is a constant intellectual duel, a game of cat and mouse where each one is two steps away from the other. That's why it has you so hooked, because they are not fist fights, but battles of pure wit.
