Backstory ๐ฅ
I haven't been to my parents' house for almost a year now. I stayed alone in another state for schooling, and I have been hustling. I decided to come home after a long time to eat good food and be lazy for at least a week so I can recuperate.

I deserve it because I have not slept properly in a while; I am always working, coding, and getting myself into some sort of activity.
To aid my "quest" of relaxing and being lazy, I decided to pick up a new anime to watch. I wanted to make a good decision, so I legit searched on Google for 'Best anime to watch.' I came across this gem during my search.
Intro
Sole-leveling fans will love this one. Both are quite similar because of the game-like structure and leveling up.
I'm still on season 1 of The Rising of the Shield Hero, so there are still a lot of mysteries to uncover. But here's what I've seen so far.
Storyline
It all started when a young man named Naofumi Iwatani was walking the library in search of a book to read, and then he came across a strange book. Honestly, I initially judged the series and thought it would be this clichรฉ one where he meets a lady and they both try to grab a book to read and then fall in love.
Surprisingly, as he was skimming through, the rest of the pages went blank, and suddenly a bright light shone, and he got zapped to another world. The people in the other world greeted him and the other Legendary Heroes.
They were briefed by the royal court that they would have to help combat the "Waves" of monsters threatening the land. The whole fairy tale took a dark turn when Naofumi was falsely accused of rape, and then the whole county hated him, so he decided to go on an adventure himself to battle the waves.
My Favorite Characters
RAPHTALIA ๐๐ผ
She's a demi-human and a previous slave. The scene where the master took her in, fed her, and made medicine for her really touched me. I was smiling, and tears almost dropped from my eyes.
We are in a world where a lot of people are cruel, and we're forgetting our humanity, so it was a really touching scene for me and reminded me to always remain kind even if it's a cruel world.
FILO ๐๐ผ
Filo is adorable. It's amazing how she's able to switch from being a 6-foot-tall bird to a tiny cute girl. She loves her master Naofumi so much, and it's always funny when she and Raphtalia fight for Naofumni's attention.
My Curiosity
Why do they all hate the Shield Hero?
I'm not done with the series, although I've gone far, yet it's quite hard deducing why. It doesn't seem normal. It can't just be because his shield is perceived as weak. I feel the royal family has a hand in a ploy, and also those waves keep coming to cause terror.
My Theory
Remember, I said that the pages were blank, as he was skimming through them in the earlier scene? Maybe it was blank because they haven't finished their mission and their story is still being told.
Maybe when he returns to his world, the pages will be filled with his adventures.
Well, I will find out soon.
I'm going back to relax in front of my screen to finish up and maybe rest a bit because I have a chess tournament โ later in the evening.
