Mecha anime is a genre which, although I liked it quite a lot as in the case of Code Geass and Darling In The Franxx, I don't watch it very often, but sometimes I usually look for some anime of this style to watch, some time ago I found an anime with some years old and that belonged to this genre, but being more like armor instead of complete Mecha. This anime is Saijaku Muhai No Bahamut from the year 2016 and with only 12 chapters, the only drawback that I did not anticipate when starting this anime is that it is not complete and has not yet released a second season so if you like it you will end up with the doubt of how the story continues.
Saijaku Muhai No Bahamut besides having elements of Mecha, also has elements of action, fantasy and even Harem where our protagonist Lux Arcadia ends up being the only male student at the academy and for obvious reasons, several of the classmates end up feeling interested in him and having him as a love interest, although Lux will be quite clueless or indifferent to them.
Something very peculiar in this anime is Lux's background, he is a prince, but he is the fallen prince of the previous kingdom which was overthrown 5 years ago and now he is nothing more than a simple inhabitant of the new kingdom with certain restrictions and obligations to ensure that he is not locked up for the crimes attributed to the previous empire, for this reason when they tell him that he must attend the academy he has no choice but to accept.
The Mecha in this anime are called Drag, normal power users are called Drag Rides and those with better abilities are called Drag Knight, at first glance Lux seems to be a normal Drag user but very quickly it is discovered that he possesses unparalleled power and controls a dark divine Drag called Bahamut although using it wears him down a lot and he has not yet managed to get all his power. Similarly several of the protagonists are really talented and have special Drag with unique powers and abilities, although they are not as strong as Lux could be and at the end in the decisive moments is when we see the true potential of Bahamut and Lux's abilities. Something good is how it is not all based simply on Lux and although he is very strong he is also seen in very complicated situations where he needs the support of his companions to achieve victory in the fights in addition to having the premise that Bahamut means great effort and wear, so it is not all based on simply Lux to beat everyone very easily.
Something curious are the enemies that seem to be demons or somewhat terrifying creatures called Abyss, what I found striking is how the strongest and almost apocalyptic versions of these creatures are called Ragnarok and the fights against them are very entertaining and exciting even considering that they are not very extensive, something confusing is that it does not end up explaining at least in a clear way the origin of these creatures and only says that they are present and are a constant danger.
Another aspect that leaves you somewhat dissatisfied at least with the only season of this anime is that Lux's past and the reason for his actions are not explained very well, several very shocking events of his past and the great deeds he did are revealed, although they would be very criticized for the prince of an empire, it is not explained very well what are all the conditions of his amnesty with the new kingdom and what he really seeks, one of the problems when the anime is paused or canceled before finishing the whole story.
The harem factor is entertaining and although it has some aspects of Ecchi does not end up being the center of attention or detract from the importance of the story, even the harem aspect is a little fun but they know how to leave it aside when the story requires it, as for its visual aspect to be an anime with some years is quite good animation and combat effects and moments of major actions with the Drag are well done, Something perhaps a little criticized but that is something frequent in the anime of that time is that in the moments of greater dynamism in the combats the screen can darken a little and in addition to being so fast scenes the detail in the animation can be reduced but it does not result in something very criticized, in the end Saijaku Muhai No Bahamut is an entertaining anime and perhaps not so well known but with the negative that at least for now it seems to be on pause and its second season has been waiting for almost 8 years.

Los Animes de Mecha es un género el cual, si bien me ha gustado bastante como en el caso de Code Geass y Darling In The Franxx, el mismo no suelo verlo muy seguido, pero de igual manera algunas veces suelo buscar algún anime de este estilo para ver, hace un tiempo me encontré con un anime con algunos años de antigüedad y que pertenecía a este género, pero siendo más como armadura en lugar de Mechas completos. Este anime se trata de Saijaku Muhai No Bahamut del año 2016 y con solamente 12 capítulos, el único inconveniente que no anticipe al comenzar este anime es que no se encuentra completo y aún no ha salido una segunda temporada por lo cual si te gusta terminaras con la duda de como continua la historia.
Saijaku Muhai No Bahamut ademas de tener elementos de Mecha, también cuenta con elementos de acción, fantasía y hasta Harem en donde nuestro protagonista Lux Arcadia termina siendo el único estudiante varón en la academia y por obvias razones, varias de las compañeras terminan sintiéndose interesadas por él y teniendolo como interés amoroso, aunque Lux sera bastante despistado o indiferente a las mismas.
Algo muy peculiar en este anime es el trasfondo de Lux, se trata de un príncipe, pero es el principie caído del reino anterior el cual fue derrocado hace 5 años y ahora no es más que un simple habitante del nuevo reino con ciertas restricciones y obligaciones para asegurar que no sea encerrado por los crímenes que se atribuyen al imperio anterior, por este motivo cuando le dicen que deberá asistir a la academia no tiene otra opción que aceptar.
Los Mecha en este animes se llaman Drag, los usuarios de poder normal se llaman Drag Rides y aquellos con mejores habilidades son llamados Drag Knight, a simple vista Lux parece ser un usuario normal de Drag pero muy rápido se descubre que el posee un poder sin igual y controla a un Drag divino oscuro llamado Bahamut aunque utilizarlo lo desgasta mucho y aún no ha logrado conseguir todo su poder. De igual forma varias de las protagonistas son realmente talentosas y cuentan con Drag especiales con poderes y habilidades únicas, aunque no son tan fuertes como podría ser Lux y al final en los momentos decisivos es cuando vemos el verdadero potencial de Bahamut y las habilidades de Lux. Algo bueno es como no se basa todo simplemente en Lux y aunque es muy fuerte también se le ve en situaciones muy complicadas en donde necesita el apoyo de sus compañeras para lograr vencer en los combates además de tener la premisa de que Bahamut le significa gran esfuerzo y desgaste, por esto no se basa todo en simplemente llegar Lux para vencer a todos muy fácil.
Algo curioso son los enemigos que parecen ser Demonios o criaturas algo aterradoras llamadas Abyss, lo que me pareció llamativo es como las versiones más fuertes y casi que apocalicticas de estas criaturas se llaman Ragnarok y los combate contra las mismas son muy entretenidos y emocionantes aun considerando que no llegan a ser muy extensos, algo confuso es que no se termina de explicar al menos de una forma clara el origen de estas criaturas y solo se dice que están presentes y son un peligro constante.
Otro aspecto que te deja algo inconforme al menos con la única temporada de este anime es que no se termina de explicar muy bien el pasado de Lux y la razón de sus acciones, se llega a revelar varios sucesos muy impactantes de su pasado y las grandes hazañas que llego hacer, aunque las mismas serían muy criticables para el príncipe de un imperio, tampoco se explica muy bien cuales son todas las condiciones de su amnistía con el nuevo reino y lo que realmente busca, uno de los problemas de cuando los animes quedan pausados o cancelados antes de terminar toda la historia.
El factor harem es entretenido y aunque cuenta con algunos aspectos de Ecchi no termina siendo el centro de atención ni restarle importancia a la historia, incluso el aspecto harem resulta un poco divertido pero lo saben dejar de lado cuando la historia lo requiere, en cuanto a su aspecto visual para ser un anime con algunos años es bastante buena la animación y los efectos de combates y los momentos de mayor acciones con los Drag están bien hechos, algo tal vez un poco criticable pero que es algo frecuente en los animes de esa época es que en los momentos de mayor dinamismo en los combates se puede oscurecer un poco la pantalla y además al ser escenas tan rápidas el detalle en la animación se puede ver reducido pero no resulta en algo muy criticable, al final Saijaku Muhai No Bahamut es un anime entretenido y tal vez no tan conocido pero con la negativa de que al menos por ahora parece estar en pausa y su segunda temporada ya lleva casi 8 años en espera.

I agree with you that it is an interesting anime that combines elements of mecha, action, fantasy, and Harem in an entertaining way. The plot and the characters have potential, but it is regrettable that the lack of a second season leaves so many unanswered questions.
es una historia muy buena y se hace bastante entretenido y emocionante los capítulos aunque al final como solo es la primera temporada y por ahora no hay mas te quedas con muchas dudas, espero que decidan darle al menos una segunda oportunidad sacando la nueva temporada

You had convinced me to watch it until you mentioned that it didn't have a second season (I don't like to leave things incomplete and even less if they don't explain anything, I won't feel satisfied), I'm a big fan of Gundam and from time to time I like to watch anime with mechas, it'll be for another occasion.
I liked it a lot and I don't usually watch these anime very often but it's a pity that it doesn't have a continuation, many times it happens that we find very good anime that entertain us but are incomplete :/
I like the Mecha style, although I think that this genre in the anime has lost relevance and although the anime is not finished, I was motivated to look for information about the existence of a manga and if it exists, although I think it does not cover the whole story, as it was originally told in short novels that ended in 2020, came to an end and I do not know if that can be obtained for reading.
I didn't know that the light novel ended, I did see that the manga is still in publication but I don't know how long ago the last volume was released or if the mangaka intends to finish the manga or not :/. usually you usually find fan pages that make the translations for the love of art because many times the not so popular novels don't have their official translation to other languages.
When it comes to Mecha my allegiance always goes with Gundam but I am still going to check this out.
I've never seen this anime but I've been told it's very good, I have to watch it one day.
Code geass god that anime for me 10/10 in the second chapter caught me totally. It looks interesting this anime although it does not call much attention to me by the shape of the armor and the Harem that always seems to me as unnecessary but as you say they know when to leave it aside, plus the animation really looks pretty good despite being a little old, I also liked that the characters were not only there of bulge and only served for the Harem and really help the protagonist. Sadly it's not complete, it's happened to me that I watch an anime and it's not even finished. Good post bro <3
Code geass god ese anime para mi 10/10 en el segundo cap me atrapo totalmente. Se ve interesante este anime aunque no me llama mucho la atención por la forma de la armadura y el Harem que siempre me parece como innecesario pero como tu dices saben cuando dejarlo de lado, ademas que la animación realmente se ve bastante bien a pesar de ser un poco viejo, Me agrado tambien que las personajes no solo estuvieran ahi de bulto y solo sirvieran para el Harem y realmente ayuden al prota. Tristemente no esta completo, me ha pasado que me veo un anime y ni siquiera ha terminado. Buen post bro <3
claro a muchas personas no les suele gustar los animes donde meten harem con acción pero este no esta tan mal, aunque como dices el problema es su continuidad y que únicamente tiene un temporada, puede ser un anime interesante para verte en poco tiempo y dejarlo de lado sin pensar mucho en como continuo la historia jaja
