Today I’d like to talk to you about a movie I saw recently that really touched my heart—honestly, it’s packed with powerful emotions. It’s one of those anime films that make you both cry and laugh, but the best part is that it’s a movie (those who know me are aware that, when it comes to anime, I prefer movies over series).
Hoy me gustaría hablarles de una película que vi recientemente y que me llegó al alma porque honestamente está cargada de muchas emociones bastante fuertes, es un anime de esos que te hacen llorar y reír, pero lo mejor de todo es que se trata de una película (los que me conocen saben que cuando se trata de animes yo prefiero las películas antes que las series)
Overview/Resumen
The story centers on Taki, a young man from Tokyo, and Mitsuha, a girl from a small town who is fed up with rural life. Suddenly, while they sleep, they begin to swap bodies; however, the shift is drastic, as they not only switch physical forms and cultural and geographic settings but also inhabit different time periods—for instance, Mitsuha lives three years in the past relative to Taki.
La historia trata sobre un chico, Taki, un joven de Tokio y Mitsuha, una chica de pueblo, harta de vivir en un espacio rural, y así, de la nada mientras duermen empiezan a cambiar de cuerpo, pero el cambio es brutal porque no solo cambian de cuerpo y hasta de contexto geográfico y cultural sino que viven en tiempos diferentes, por ejemplo Mitsuha vive tres años atrás con respecto a Taki.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
It is not the first time I have seen stark contrasts between rural and urban settings—it also happened with the Ghibli film *Only Yesterday*—but the truth is that this approach works very well to showcase both lifestyles and the fact that they can coexist; even cultural clashes can provide feedback that ultimately fosters personal growth. At the same time, the film introduces the beautiful Eastern belief in the "red thread"—the one that connects two people across time and distance, eventually bringing their destinies together.
No es la primera vez que veo marcados contrastes entre entornos rurales y urbanos, sucedió también con la película Only Yesterday de Ghibli, pero la verdad es que sirve muy bien para mostrar ambos estilos de vida y el hecho de que estos dos estilos de vida pueden coexistir, incluso los choques culturales pueden servir como retroalimentación que al fin y al cabo sirven también como crecimiento personal. Al mismo tiempo se plantea la bonita creencia oriental del hilo rojo, ese que une a dos personas a pesar del tiempo ay la distancia para cruzar sus destinos en algún momento.
The film is full of intense emotions, yet near the end, I was on the verge of ranting against the entire movie because of the direction the plot was taking (obviously, I can't give details without spoiling the experience for anyone who might want to watch it). Fortunately, however, everything wrapped up in the best possible way—and it didn't feel forced; on the contrary, it felt very natural. It speaks to the force of destiny and the power it can hold over human beings, but above all, to the power of the decisions we make.
La película está llena de emociones intensas pero ya casi para el final estuve a punto de despotricar de toda la película por la manera como se estaba dirigiendo la trama, (obviamente no puedo darles detalles sin arruinarles la experiencia en caso de que quieran ver la película) pero afortunadamente todo terminó de la mejor manera y yo no sentía que haya sido de manera forzada, al contrario, fue muy natural. Nos habla de la fuerza del destino y del poder que pudiera tener sobre los seres humanos, pero sobre todo del poder que tienen las decisiones que tomamos.
I wholeheartedly recommend them if you are looking for something thought-provoking to watch that is also entertaining and moving.
De todo corazón se las recomiendo en caso de que estén buscando algo reflexivo para ver, pero al mismo tiempo divertido y emotivo.

This was my favorite anime drama back in the 2015 when it came out. I also liked the movie of 5 centimeter per hour.
Was it a series? I prefer watching anime movies because they have a beginning, a middle, and an end all in one go.
It was a movie. You should watch it.
