Today's anime is "Sword Art Online" it is one of the greatest anime I have ever watched but only season 1 is preferable to me. People also agreed with me who have already watched all of the seasons of SAO, because it started as a heroic journey and ended up with being harem. I don't mind watching harem related stories but SAO was really different and I had high expectations from it but it completely turned into a disaster after season one. I feel they could have make other seasons better or they could have stopped making the seasons. I am a big fan of Sword Art Online because of the gaming theme.
Plot Summary
Those who don't know about this anime I will give a brief description about it. Basically, here's a virtual game which is played with helmet gear and it connecting to your veins of the neck but it's like wearing a helmet. Our protagonist is a guy who is Kirito, he is a game addict, he is currently a beta tester and his levels are hidden. One day he plays the same virtual game as always but there was an error he could not log out. There comes an announcement saying that players can not quit unless they complete all of the levels and their body can feel all of the sensation that happens inside the game but if someone forcefully unplugs the helmet then they will die in real life. Also if they are dead in the game then they will die in real life too. Kirito as a beta tester has lots of advantage but decided to remain silent because that would be unfair for other players and he doesn't show off his abilities. Meanwhile in his journey he teams up with a girl who's name is Asuna, she's extremely beautiful and their love angle starts in a while.
Review
Asuna is one of the strongest female lead I have encountered and I must say that she's bold and very intelligent. Kirito as a protagonist is good but he often is seen not being able to say No to other girls and very close with them. I really liked the chemistry between Kirito and Asuna but I don't think Kirito deserves Asuna at all. I don't know why but I don't like it if a story in the beginning is about two lovers struggling and later it becomes a harem. Like what kind of story is that? I feel they could have make it better into something mind-blowing rather then making Kirito a playboy. I liked the story more when it was only about the character development and the love story between Asuna and Kirito.
I must say that the animation is insane! Like the scenes of the battles and the fighting style is really cool. I really got impressed by the battlefield scenarios. Handling sword in an attractive way I could not have imagined that kind of thing in an anime. Kirito truly has a unique way of doing things, I also like that Kirito is not dumb he's brave and always finds his way out even though there's nothing he can do. He made the impossible things happen and that's the thing we always want to see in a protagonist. The antagonist was not less than the protagonist, I completely hated the antagonist from the bottom of my heart. How cruel a character can be, it would be better if we could see the reason why he has become a villain like a proper valid reason, but I could not find any. He is just a villain that's it and there's no backstory for that, so I could not empathize with the villain. I have seen few anime where they reveals the backstory of the villains which was painful and it often makes me emotional but this antagonist is not having the same thing. Anyway, season 1 shows how gaming can turn into something dark, players trying to level up each floor grinding teaming up and giving their best but still ends up dead, lots of emotional ride.
Sword Art Online was released in 2012 and at that time this kind of plot and animation is rarely seen. I can not explain how I excited I used to be when I used to watch this anime and I was a huge fan of Kirito, I always wanted to do his cosplay but it was not available in my country. I had a figure of him one of my friend had gifted me but it was broken by my cousin so I don't have any picture of it. But still now I admire his character from season 1. Maybe someday I will review other seasons of it. I would 100% reccomend to watch the season one because it's great a gaming theme will give you lots of thriller. There are not much of a twist but you can trust that it's a good anime to watch to have a good time.

The first season and Alicization were the best for me 😍 The rest seemed a bit boring and unnecessary haha but that doesn't take away from the fact that it was a pretty original anime when it was released 👌
