Hello anime lovers. Today I want to talk about an original anime of the genre "Mahō Shōjo" or "Magical Girls", which is a demographic that is very popular in the world of anime and in the otaku culture, a culture that we will see represented very well in the series that we will talk about next. Created by Jun Inagawa and animated by Bibury Animation Studios, this anime, aired last 2023 with a total of 12 chapters and available now on Crunchyroll, has been very missing despite having one of the best animations I've seen lately, being its Opening and Ending a couple of perfect samples of it.

Plot
The anime takes us to a post-apocalyptic world, between 2008 and 2014, where everything related to otaku culture (be it anime, manga, cosplay, music, games and collections) is banned by a mysterious organization that calls itself the SSC, which is led by a guy with a TV head. The otaku are oppressed and threatened by this organization, which is in charge of maintaining order throughout Japan. Among all, a few otaku and survivors are hidden among the society while they reorganize and form a revolution, led by a guy with a red cape, helmets and glasses called "Otaku Hero".
Said leader of the otaku revolution is accompanied by three girls, which are "Magical Girls" named Anarchy, Blue and Pink, and they are the "Secret Weapon" to defeat the evil SSC organization and thus liberate the otakus all over the country. However, despite them having exceptional power to end the war, the leader of the extremist organization proves to be a genius by predicting almost all of their moves, which makes this much more complicated than it seems.

El anime nos lleva a un mundo post-apocalíptico, entre el 2008 y 2014, donde todo lo relacionado a la cultura otaku (ya sea animes, mangas, cosplay, música, juegos y colecciones) está prohibido por una misteriosa organización que se hace llamar la SSC, la cual es liderada por un tipo con cabeza de televisor. Los otakus son oprimidos y amenazados por dicha organización, la cual se encarga de mantener el orden en todo Japón. Entre todos, unos pocos otakus y supervivientes se encuentran escondidos entre la sociedad mientras se reorganizan y forman una revolución, liderada por un chico con capa roja, cascos y lentes llamado “Otaku Hero”.
Dicho líder de la revolución otaku está acompañando por tres chicas, las cuales son “Chicas Mágicas” que llevan por nombre Anarchy, Blue y Pink, y son el “Arma Secreta” para vencer a la malvada organización SSC y así liberar a los otakus de todo el país. Sin embargo, a pesar de ellas tener un poder excepcional para acabar con dicha guerra, el líder de la organización extremista muestra ser un genio al predecir casi todos sus movimientos, lo cual hace esto mucho más complicado de lo que parece.

Of the many things I can say about this anime, so peculiar and unique in its style, I would like to start by mentioning the excellent animation it has, which, although it is not the best of all, has a visual quality much better than many other anime nowadays. Not to mention the visual spectacle it gives us in its different battle scenarios. Combining all this with the good soundtrack it has, makes it a very good action and fantasy anime that can very well stand on its own.
On the other hand, the plot is unique and very interesting, especially for those who are otaku, since it is practically a kind of homage and/or direct and indirect reference to everything related to this culture, which has recently become very popular worldwide. It mixes what is a nice comedy style with funny and unique characters in a war against an organization that can easily refer to any entity, brand or person that seeks to end the otaku culture in Japan and the world.

De tantas cosas que puedo decir de este anime tan peculiar y único en su estilo, me gustaría empezar mencionando la excelente animación que posee, la cual, si bien no es la mejor de todas, tiene una calidad visual muchísimo mejor que muchos otros animes de la actualidad. Eso sin contar con el espectáculo visual que nos da en sus diferentes escenarios de batallas. Juntando todo esto con la buena banda sonora que tiene, la hace un muy buen anime de acción y fantasía que muy bien se puede defender por sí misma.
Por otro lado, la trama es única y muy interesante, sobre todo para los que son otakus, ya que prácticamente es como una especie de homenaje y/o referencia directa e indirecta de todo lo relacionado a dicha cultura, la cual se ha vuelto mundialmente muy popular recientemente. Mezcla lo que es un estilo de comedia agradable con personajes divertidos y únicos en su estilo en una guerra contra una organización que fácilmente puede referirse a cualquier ente, marca o persona que busca acabar con dicha cultura otaku en Japón y el mundo.

Among the characters we meet from the beginning, there is Otaku Hero, who is not the typical super-powered protagonist with privileges or superhuman strength. He is just a simple boy, a weak human being and an otaku who is very loyal and fanatic of that culture and seeks to end the organization to free his friends from oppression. With a clear idea and goal, he easily becomes a sign of revolution and hope for such a group of social outcasts. Beyond being the protagonist who ends the war at the end, by a miraculous act given by the same script, this ends up being a faithful example to follow for the revolution.
And well, apart from the fact that it is an anime by and for otakus, in it we can see many references and similarities to other anime, series and even styles that we see in that culture. With a somewhat peculiar way of carrying the plot with episodes as random as supernatural and bizarre, this anime is a complete journey into a world involved in a war against extremists and abusers who hate otaku culture. Ending in a very unpleasant but reasonably acceptable way, personally, this anime left me with a somewhat bittersweet taste but with a series of fun and spectacular experiences and moments.
Personally, I give it a rating of 8/10 as far as the Fantasy, Comedy and Action genre is concerned.

Entre los personajes que conocemos desde el principio, está Otaku Hero, el cual no es el típico protagonista superpoderoso o con privilegios o fuerza sobrehumana. Es solo un simple chico, un ser humano débil y un otaku que es muy fiel y fanático de dicha cultura y que busca acabar con la organización para liberar a dus amigos de la opresión. Con una idea y un objetivo bien claro, este se convierte fácilmente en una señal de revolución y de esperanza para dicho grupo de marginados sociales. Más allá de ser el protagonista que acabe con la guerra al final, por un acto milagroso regalado por el mismo guión, este termina siendo un ejemplo fiel a seguir para dicha revolución.
Y bueno, quitando el hecho de que es un anime de y para los otakus, en ella podemos ver muchas referencias y similitudes a otros animes, series e incluso estilos que vemos en dicha cultura. Con una forma un tanto peculiar de llevar la trama con episodios tan random como pasados de sobrenatural y bizarros, este anime es un completo viaje hacia un mundo envuelto en una guerra contra extremistas y abusadores que odian la cultura otaku. Finalizando de una forma muy poco agradable pero razonablemente aceptable, en lo personal, este anime me dejó con un sabor un tanto agridulce pero con una serie de experiencias y momentos divertidos y espectaculares.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 8/10 en lo que respecta al género de Fantasía, Comedia y Acción.

Sounds like a satire for the critics of otaku culture which is nothing really new from what JP shows can come up with. I'm not sold on the anime as it reminds me of Shimoneta if I had to go with how you retell the plot. But I've seen the trailer and clips of the animation to give it another look, seems ok.

Well, yes, the anime doesn't have a very interesting plot or characters, compared to others in the "Mahō Shōjo" genre, but if it doesn't catch your attention because of its plot, maybe it does because of its animation.
