In my personal opinion, I really liked the only theme if it was Arlong. That Arlong looks uglier than anything, not so much because of the nose but because of the size, and Arlong was square. This one looks very... like I ran out of budget.

You know, this is anime and it's extremely crazy (colorful, fairy-tale) and unnatural, so they couldn't transfer everything as it looked in the comics. As for Arlong, I don't know if I understood correctly. A friend who is interested in fish says that Arlong's nose has been rendered very well, in the sense of what we see in the manga.
No, the nose is fine. What I don't like is the size of Arlong's body; it's too small and square.xD
