Yu Yu Hakusho the Live Action version of Netflix is a series inspired by the manga and anime of the same name that tries to bring to flesh and blood performances a narrative complicated to transfer by the large number of visual elements that are required to manifest the large number of powers, transformations and all the graphic Lore of this story.
I think it manages to establish an acceptable representation of this world or narrative universe of Yu Yu Hakusho that uses the Yokai concept and associates to develop its plot. If I consider and I regret that the fandom is so punishing with this type of products, I mean the Live Action, in my case I am impressed with several things I see which are positive and crush the amount of negative things that if there are but I can tell you that I felt as a viewer part of the world of Yu Yu Hakusho.
I can advance that my assessment is positive, beyond the aberrant aspects that are seen in this series haha, my greatest appreciation is that I enjoyed this series of 5 episodes on Netflix.
Yu Yu Hakusho la versión Live Action de Netflix es una serie inspirada en el manga y anime del mismo nombre que trata de llevar a actuaciones de carne y hueso una narrativa complicada de trasladar por la gran cantidad de elementos visuales que se requieren para poder manifestar la gran cantidad de poderes, transformaciones y en sí todo el Lore gráfico de esta historia.
Pienso que logra establecer una aceptable representación de este mundo o universo narrativo de Yu Yu Hakusho que usa el concepto Yokai y asociados para desarrollar su trama. Si considero y me da pesar que el fandom es tan castigador con este tipo de productos, me refiero a los Live Action, en mi caso yo estoy impresionado ante variadas cosas que veo las cuales son positivas y aplastan esa cantidad de cosas negativas que si las hay pero puedo decirles que me sentí como espectador parte del mundo de Yu Yu Hakusho.
Puedo adelantar que mi valoración es positiva, mas allá de los aspectos aberrantes que se ven en esta serie jaja, mi mayor apreciación es que disfrute esta serie de 5 episodios en Netflix.
One of the characters that when I saw the anime two decades ago I found very funny was Koenma that you can see in the gif uses something in his mouth that is very funny, I imagine the actor doing this job and laughing internally all the time because he has to have that in his mouth haha, seeing it in anime softens the image in the mind but seeing it in a real person impacts a lot.
The point I want to emphasize with this is that I see a work of direction, casting and costumes to highlight, to bring totally illogical characters to a representation as real as possible is not easy, there is a fine line between ridiculous and impressive. In this case I am fascinated and happy with what I see, I use Koenma as an example to say that visually I saw this Live Action very acceptable in several characters including the main characters.
I dare to fully defend this Live Action work because I know that the fandom is very toxic around this visual representation but I am impressed with the detail of costumes, in the thumbnail you can focus on the clothes of the characters and you will notice that they are loose which fits perfectly with the visual of the anime that was absurdly wide clothes.
I notice the defense to the visual structure of the anime but it must also be said that many anime actually have a visual not nice, what happens is that nostalgia and seeing things at such a young age makes our minds only stay with the great but not necessarily what we see in many anime is beautiful, I mention this because the fandom often sin in asking for impossible, I think you have to enjoy life haha and this product your costume work is very well done.
Uno de los personajes que cuando vi el anime hace ya dos décadas me pareció muy gracioso fue Koenma que pueden ver en el gif usa algo en la boca que es muy gracioso, yo me imagino al actor realizando este trabajo y riéndose internamente todo el rato porque tiene que tener eso en la boca jaja, verlo en anime suaviza la imagen en la mente pero verla en una persona real impacta mucho.
El punto que quiero destacar con esto es que veo una labor de Dirección, casting y vestuario a resaltar, poder llevar personajes totalmente ilógicos a una representación lo mas real posible no es fácil, hay una línea delgada entre lo ridículo y lo impresionante. En este caso quedo fascinado y contento con lo que veo, uso a Koenma como ejemplo para decir que visualmente vi este Live Action muy aceptable en variados personajes incluyendo a los protagonistas.
Me animo a defender totalmente esta obra de Live Action porque se que el fandom es muy toxico en torno a esta representación visual pero yo me quedo impresionado ante el detalle de vestuario, en la miniatura pueden enfocarse en las ropas de los personajes y notaran que son holgadas lo cual encaja perfectamente con la visual del anime que era absurdamente amplia las ropas.
Noto la defensa a la estructura visual de los animes pero también hay que decir que muchos animes en realidad tienen una visual no agradable, lo que sucede es que la nostalgia y el ver las cosas a tan temprana edad hace que nuestra mente solo se quede con lo genial pero no necesariamente lo que vemos en muchos anime es precioso, nombro esto porque el fandom muchas veces peca en pedir imposibles, pienso hay que disfrutar la vida jaja y este producto su trabajo de vestuario esta muy bien hecho.
Now let's start with the debate about the narrative presented that adapts to a wide arc of the anime, I think it was established in a horrible way at the beginning because there is a totally unnecessary tertiary character that takes too many minutes of the series and it is also visually awful, the acting is the worst I've seen and unfortunately that start can overshadow the good development of the rest of the characters.
From my point of view all the main characters are excellent and the villains too, it is a pity that the tertiary character who is there to help the viewer to understand the Yokai plot is so grotesque that it took me out of the story, I was very happy when the series left that character that does not matter and focused on those who do matter to us. I encourage you to watch because you may like everything, I hope so because what I can tell you is that I liked practically all the actors in the representation of all this group of characters in heroes and villains that as the plot progresses, it manages to consolidate.
The eternal detail of the Live Action for this type of stories will always be the CGI, the transfer of anime to CGI is a suffering and this product does not escape to that, there are things to highlight that I will name later but Toguro that you can see in the image goes from Great to be abominable in a negative way because of the CGI aspect.
I think we are getting closer and closer to see fantastic stories made Live Action that do not generate visual repulsion but at the moment there is still present the terrible visual impact in the representation of CGI, the question is if we need to improve and maybe the answer is yes, I think there is present the effort to improve these technologies in constant optimization but there is still the shock of images in our brains when it fails to execute well.
Ahora sí empecemos con el debate sobre la narrativa presentada que adapta a un amplio arco del anime, pienso se estableció de manera horrorosa al principio porque hay un personaje terciario totalmente innecesario que se lleva demasiados minutos de la serie y además es espantoso visualmente, la actuación es de lo peor que he visto y lamentablemente ese inicio si puede opacar el buen desenvolvimiento del resto de personajes.
Desde mi punto de vista todos los protagonistas están excelentes y los villanos también, es una lastima que ese personaje terciario que esta para ayudar al espectador a entender la trama Yokai sea tan grotesco que a mi me saco de historia, me alegre mucho cuando la serie salio de ese personaje que no importa y se centro en los que si nos importan. Te animo a ver porque puede que para ti si agrade todo, espero sea así porque lo que si te puedo decir es que a mi me agradaron practicamente todos los actores en la representación de todo este grupo de personajes en héroes y villanos que a medida que la trama avanza, se logra consolidar.
El detalle eterno de los Live Action para este tipo de historias sera siempre el CGI, el trasladar anime a CGI vaya que es un sufrimiento y este producto no escapa a eso, hay cosas a destacar que luego nombrare pero Toguro que pueden ver en la imagen pasa de Genial a ser abominable de manera negativa por el aspecto CGI.
Pienso estamos cada vez mas cerca de ver historias fantásticas hechas Live Action que no generen repulsión visual pero de momento aun esta presente el impacto visual pésimo en la representación del CGI, la pregunta es si falta mejorar y puede que la respuesta sea sí, pienso que esta presente el esfuerzo por mejorar estas tecnologías en constante optimización pero sigue el choque de imágenes en nuestros cerebros cuando no se logra ejecutar bien.

My thinking is that the execution of the vital battles has a lot of power, good acting and as a fandom I think you should evaluate things objectively and not destructively, Asians have a physical structure that may clash with ours, the above also applies to customs like when the protagonists do their poses anime style, but that should not be a reason to say that something is bad, actually there the conflict would be cultural and that's another thing.
As I mentioned, the battles left me with a feeling of wanting to see them again, an example of that is the battle I mentioned, Kurama VS Karasu, it was one of the best fights in this series and for me there was good graphic and acting neatness by both actors, both the hero who has never been one of my favorite or striking characters in this story but he fights very well haha and his counterpart, the villain Karasu spectacular, he really looks scary with that mask.
One or another exaggerated moment in the acting of these characters in the battle, that definitely has to improve Asia because they are the ones who make these exaggerated performances by nature, if I think that should be dosed so that the product is more homogeneous to the international audience.
En el video de youtube les comparto lo que para mi fue la mejor batalla, si no haz visto esta serie, puedes animarte a ver un poco de esa batalla sobre todo si llegaste a ver el anime en su época.
Mi pensar es que la ejecución de las batallas vitales tiene mucho poder, buena actuación y como fandom pienso que se debe evaluar las cosas de manera objetiva y no destructiva, los asiáticos tienen una estructura física que puede chocar con la nuestra, lo anterior también aplica a las costumbres como cuando los protagonistas hacen sus poses al estilo anime, pero eso no debe ser una razón para decir que algo es malo, en realidad allí el conflicto sería cultural y eso es otra cosa.
Como mencione, las batallas si me dejaron una sensación de querer volverlas a ver, un ejemplo de eso es la batalla que mencionaba, Kurama VS Karasu, fue una pelea de lo mejor en esta serie y para mi hubo buena pulcritud gráfica y actoral por parte de ambos actores, tanto del héroe que nunca ha sido de mis personajes favoritos ni llamativos dentro de esta historia pero pelea muy bien jaja y su contraparte, el villano karasu espectacular, de verdad se ve tenebroso con esa mascara.
Uno que otro momento exagerado en la actuación de estos personajes en la batalla, eso definitivamente tiene que mejorarlo asia porque ellos son los que hacen esas actuaciones exageradas por naturaleza, si pienso eso se debe dosificar para que el producto quede mas homogéneo al publico internacional.

Al ver la pelea me di cuenta de que la actuación es buena, y el cgi no se ve mal
Yo quede muy feliz con lo que vi sobre todo de esa pelea en especifico a pesar de que Kurama no es para nada de mis personajes favoritos en su modo base ni en su otra fase, vi muy buena coreografia etc, una buena serie para aquellas que aun no conocen Yu Yu Hakusho
Yo no ví el anime, solo la serie de Netflix y me pareció demasiado buena que hasta me dieron ganas de ver al anime
ajajaj es que es buenisima, yo quede sorprendido gratamente con lo que vi, vestuario luce genial, Kuwabara es gracioso, buenas peleas, villanos con buena presencia, son muchas las cosas positivas y que si, animan a ver el anime para conocer mas de esta historia

Yeah, sameee... I watched this one last year and honestly, I really find it enjoyable. I don't understand why people tend to judge live actions easily—like I don't see the reason why they blatantly hate it. For me, the actors portrayed well their characters and plotwise, yeah they skipped the tournament arc (because that would really too looong to adapt), but anyway, I still like how the story went. Toguro's backstory was as heartbreaking as it was in anime, and tho it ended happily, I kinda felt sad about the part where he walked a separate way from Genkai...it was emotional for me.
Maybe it's a preference or somewhat, but I don't have qualms with exaggeration because it's an adaptation of an old anime...so you really need to expect such exaggerated action scenes. I've seen a fair share of live actions before, and honestly, I like it more when asian actors do the action stunts because I've watched a live-action that's done by a non-asian actor (DBZ? god, I want to forget I had watched it) and safe to say, it's really weird... I'm not generalizing, but yeah, I guess this is a matter of preference as well.
That is my conflict with a good part of the fandom that in a premeditated way punishes this type of series just for existing without valuing the positive things that in this case there are, the dark tone in green was very good
Yes, even though there was no Tournament for reasons of duration in chapters, the emotion was present in battle. And yes, both in anime and live action the conflict and emotional redemption between Genkai and Toguro is very well raised, in my case I defend Toguro's actor, he looks spectacular haha except when he enters CGI, there if it was grotesque in my case but the actor himself was very well in his performance 😃
In my case Karasu when they plant the seed etc, there he exaggerates too much but otherwise is a spectacular Karasu in aesthetics and everything else, nothing to envy to the anime. I have conflict with those exaggerated moments because also in Bleach live action it happens with Ichigo, they are moments that in my case take me momentarily out of story haha but in itself as a product have been very enjoyable for me 😎
Yepppp! It's really infuriating sometimes how they're too quick to judge. The fight scenes were cool and like you I also felt the emotions! And ohhhh, exaggerated details do distract us from the main scene, but still, I appreciate the level of details and their attempt to make it terrifying. And Bleach LA! I haven't watched it yet but I heard that it's a nice adaptation despite there are inconsistencies with some of the characters' aesthetic..and yep, it's always the enjoyment we feel that definitely matters.
