
¡Hola Comunidad amante del Anime y el Manga!
Hace algunos días compartí un post hablando de "Death Note", así que quería aprovechar el post de hoy para hablar un poco de su creador: Takeshi Obata.

Conocer la vida de los mangaka nos ayuda a entender sus motivaciones o lo que ha servido como base para la creación de sus obras, así que voy a compartirles algunos datos que encontré sobre él, los cuales me parecieron interesantes para compartir con la comunidad.
Takeshi Obata nació en Niigata, Japón, el 11 de febrero de 1969. Mostró un talento natural para el dibujo y pasión por el manga desde muy joven. Fue tanto su interés por el arte que esto lo llevó a estudiar en la Universidad de Arte de Kyoto. Allí, perfeccionó sus habilidades y comenzó a trabajar en su primer manga de manera profesional.
Debutó en la industria con la serie "Cyber Blue" en 1990, la cual fue publicada en la revista Weekly Shonen Jump. A pesar que no resultó una obra tan exitosa, le sirvió de base para desarrollar su estilo y ganar experiencia creando manga.
Su carrera coménzó a despegar con la serie "Hikaru no Go", en la cual trabajó en conjunto co Yumi Hotta como escritor. Se publicó entre 1198 y 2003 en la revista Shonen Jump. La historia trata de Hikaru Shindo, este es un estudiante de secundaria quien descubre un tablero de Go con poderes mágicos, el cual le permite ver los movimientos de los espíritus de Go. La obra resultó un éxito comercial y trajo como consecuencia que una nueva generación de lectores, incursionaran al mundo del Go, un juego de mesa japonés antiguo.

La serie ganó varios premios y se hizo una adaptación en una serie de anime, lo cual contribuyó aún más con su popularidad.
Posterior a esta, se publicó en la revista Shonen Jump entre los años 2003-2006 su obra más famosa, "Death Note", la cual trabajó en conjunto con Tsugumi Ohba. Esta obra se basa en la historia de Light Yagami, un estudiante de secundaria quien encuentra un cuaderno con poderes sobrenaturales, el cual le permite matar a cualquier persona cuyo nombre se escriba en él.

Esta obra no sólo fue exitosa en Japón sino también tuvo una enorme popularidad en Occidente.
La obra fue adaptada en series de películas de accíón, una serie de anime y videojuegos. "Death Note" ha servido de inspiración a una enorme cantidad de artistas y escritores por lo intrincado de su narrativa, los giros inesperados y su arte detallado.
En 2009, después de su éxito con "Death Note", continuó trabajando en sus proyectos y series, lanzando "Bakuman", co-creada con Tsugumi Ohba. La obra trata sobre el mundo del manga y la industria editorial, es semi-biográfica y permite tener una visión de los desafíos y recompensas que ofrece el ser un mangaka.

Ya en 2014, Obata comienza a trabajar con otra obra en conjunto con Tsugumi Ohba, "Platinum End". En esta serie, Mirai Kakehashi, un estudiante de secundaria, encuentra un arma sobrenatural y se ve envuelto en una batalla por el control del mundo. Esta nueva obra de Obata, tuvo un buen recibimiento por parte de los fans y la crítica y sirvió para consolidar aún más su reputación como mangaka.

Como podemos ver, la vida de Takeshi Obata ha estado llena de grandes éxitos y también de arduo trabajo para lograr el lugar que ha obtenido en la industria. También podemos ver que hay elementos consistentes en su carrera, como el trabajo en conjunto y las temáticas que suele trabajar en sus obras.
Sin duda, es un ejemplo a seguir por quienes estamos interesados en ingresar al mundo del manga como artistas.

A few days ago, I shared a post talking about "Death Note," so I wanted to take advantage of today's post to talk a bit about its creator: Takeshi Obata.

Knowing the lives of mangaka helps us understand their motivations or what has served as the basis for the creation of their works, so I am going to share some data I found about him, which I found interesting to share with the community.
Takeshi Obata was born in Niigata, Japan, on February 11, 1969. He showed a natural talent for drawing and a passion for manga from a very young age. His interest in art was so great that it led him to study at the Kyoto University of Art. There, he perfected his skills and began working on his first manga professionally.
He debuted in the industry with the series "Cyber Blue" in 1990, which was published in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Although it was not a very successful work, it served as a foundation for him to develop his style and gain experience creating manga.
His career began to take off with the series "Hikaru no Go," in which he worked together with Yumi Hotta as the writer. It was published between 1998 and 2003 in the Shonen Jump magazine. The story revolves around Hikaru Shindo, a high school student who discovers a Go board with magical powers, which allows him to see the movements of Go spirits. After this, his most famous work, "Death Note," was published in the Shonen Jump magazine between 2003 and 2006, which he co-created with Tsugumi Ohba. This work is based on the story of Light Yagami, a high school student who finds a notebook with supernatural powers, which allows him to kill anyone whose name is written in it.

This work was not only successful in Japan but also gained enormous popularity in the West.
The work was adapted into action movies, an anime series, and video games. "Death Note" has inspired a huge number of artists and writers due to the intricacy of its narrative, unexpected twists, and detailed art.
In 2009, after his success with "Death Note," he continued working on his projects and series, launching "Bakuman," co-created with Tsugumi Ohba. The work revolves around the world of manga and the publishing industry, is semi-biographical, and provides a glimpse into the challenges and rewards of being a mangaka.

In 2014, Obata began working on another work in collaboration with Tsugumi Ohba, "Platinum End." As we can see, Takeshi Obata's life has been filled with great successes and also with hard work to achieve the place he has obtained in the industry. We can also see that there are consistent elements in his career, such as collaborative work and the themes he often explores in his works.
