¡Hola Comunidad de amantes del anime y el manga!
¡Feliz inicio de semana! Espero que hayan tenido un excelente fin de semana.
Hoy, quiero comenzar la semana compartiéndoles la segunda página de mi fancomic "El Décimo Tripulante", basado en el anime clásico "Daiku Maryu Gaiking", conocido también como "El Gladiador".
Mientras en la primera página probé un poco cómo luciría con un look más relacionado al manga clásico, usando pantallas de puntos en lugar de escalas de grises, en esta página probé usando escalas de grises mientras mantengo un lineart similar al anime clásico shounen.
Básicamente, realizar tanto los fanarts para el grupo de selfshipping con la pareja de Ylia y Pete y trabajar en el fancomic, se me ha convertido en una escuela para aprender muchas cosas del anime clásico y poder aplicarlas a mis propios trabajos, sobre todo en la parte de animación.
Ya que este fue uno de los anime que más impacto tuvo en la audiencia latinoamericana, le he prestado principal atención a los detalles y a la escenografía, estudiándola con detenimiento.
También, he buscado que el diseño de Ylia se asemeje al estilo del anime, con ese look que tenían los personajes que les daba un aire de mezcla entre los estilos hippie y disco de finales de los 70´s. Sinceramente, a mí me encanta así que disfruto mucho jugando con esos estilos al momento de dibujarlos.
En cuanto a los personajes, hay algunos a los que ya puedo dibujar con más soltura y cuidando las expresiones faciales y corporales específicos de ellos, sin embargo, algunos aún me falta memorizarlos como es el caso del genio del grupo, Gene Sykon e incluso a Brando Drummond, el piloto de El Gladiador. Creo que esto es debido a que, en el show, se ven alrededor de unos cinco estilos diferentes de dibujo así que, cuando tomo referencias de ángulos o poses, no necesariamente están en el mismo estilo y eso me confunde un poco. Aplicaré con ellos lo mismo que hice en el caso de Pete: fui integrando lo que más me gustaba de cada estilo hasta lograr una interpretación del Capitán Richardson que mantiene el estilo del anime y la consistencia en el diseño.
Ya en esta segunda página, he ganado suficiente confianza para continuar avanzando con las siguientes páginas. Siempre empezar una nueva historia o un nuevo capítulo nos enfrenta con el temor de no poder expresar bien lo que queremos, que no se entienda, no saber si lo podremos dibujar...en otras palabras, entre el Síndrome del Impostor y el Síndrome del Lienzo en Blanco es suficiente para que tengamos parálisis temporal por sobre pensar el proyecto. Ya una vez que se rompe esas dudas, las demás páginas fluyen fácilmente.
Espero poder tener lista la siguiente página pronto. Estoy trabajando también con el proyecto de "Ángel Guardián" y estoy manejando el tiempo entre ambos.

Hello Anime and Manga Lovers!
Happy start of the week! I hope you all had an excellent weekend.
Today, I want to kick off the week by sharing the second page of my fancomic "The Tenth Crew Member," based on the classic anime "Daiku Maryu Gaiking," also known as "El Gladiador."
While the first page experimented with a more classic manga look using screen tones instead of grayscale, this page uses grayscale while maintaining a lineart similar to classic shounen anime.
Creating fanarts for the selfshipping group with the Ylia and Pete pair, and working on the fancomic, has become a school for me to learn many things about classic anime and apply them to my own work, especially in the animation part.
Since this was one of the anime that had the most impact on the Latin American audience, I have paid special attention to the details and scenery, studying them carefully.
I have also tried to make Ylia's design resemble the anime style, with that look that the characters had, giving them a mix between the hippie and disco styles of the late 70s. I genuinely love it, so I enjoy playing with those styles when drawing them.
As for the characters, there are some I can already draw more fluidly, taking care of their specific facial and bodily expressions. However, there are still some I need to memorize, such as the genius of the group, Gene Sykon, and even Brando Drummond, the pilot of El Gladiador. I think this is because, in the show, there are around five different drawing styles, so when I take references for angles or poses, they are not necessarily in the same style, which confuses me a bit. I will apply the same thing to them as I did with Pete: I integrated what I liked most from each style to achieve an interpretation of Captain Richardson that maintains the anime style and design consistency.
By this second page, I have gained enough confidence to continue advancing with the following pages. Starting a new story or chapter always confronts us with the fear of not being able to express what we want well, that it won't be understood, not knowing if we can draw it... in other words, between Imposter Syndrome and Blank Canvas Syndrome, it's enough to give us temporary paralysis from overthinking the project. Once those doubts are broken, the rest of the pages flow easily.
I hope to have the next page ready soon. I am also working on the "Ángel Guardián" project and managing my time between both.
