Football has always been a team game where everyone must pursue the same objective, to be in sync to achieve victory.
Trueeee...that's one of the reasons why I didn't finish Blue Lock. The moment they mentioned that egoist mentality, I lost interest because football is a team sport, and there's no way you can win if you don't cooperate with your team. Maybe that mentality is ok if you're in an individual sport like arnis or badminton...but still even in individual sports, learning from your teammates is important rather than solely relying on yourself.
Anyway, the art style of this manga seemed kinda familiar, but I can't point out where I saw it before. The premise is also interesting, and I like that it touches the grass with its realistic story and also character. Will definitely add this to my to-read list.
What bothers me the most is that fans are going around on Twitter saying the current Japanese national team is playing well thanks to Blue Lock, thanks to the selfish philosophy and blah, blah, blah. When we all know it's because they started playing better as a team.
As for the art, I liked it a lot, and I think it fits really well with what the work is trying to convey.
Haha typical Twitter interaction...that's why I don't spend much time browsing my twitter account because I'll just end up getting triggered. I think I also read about that discussion there and it's really ridiculous haha. It's like saying that you can play solo in a team sport...it totally doesn't make sense.
Yes, the roughness of lines just fits well with the action they wanted to portrayed plus it heightens the emotions of the characters...will really try reading this one soon.
