One of the most popular genres in the history of manga and anime is shonen. It is the flagship genre that most consumers see, and it is not for less obviously, because they have given us great series such as Fullmetal Alchemist or Hunter x Hunter to give examples, but for a few years now, although the genre has enjoyed popularity, It is always the same works that carry the car, such as Naruto, Dragon Ball, and One Piece. This is how My Hero Academia came to us, which together with Kimetsu no Yaiba became one of the most followed of the genre, and which I want to talk about today especially.
First of all I want to focus on talking about its first season, because I think it deserves its own publication, in addition to the other seasons.
My Hero Academia presents us with a classic superhero world, where everyone, or at least most, has unique powers. By the time where they place us, these powers have already assumed enormous importance, where they are used for work, everyday life and of course, crime. People awaken their powers from an early age, although not everything is like that, because there is a small percentage of people in this world who do not have powers of any kind, and from here we start, because our protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, is precisely from that people sector. Since he was little, Midoriya has been a victim of bullying for not having powers, all by his classmates, and this obviously hits him, because since he was a child he was a fan of superheroes. The theme is mainly this, and about how our protagonist will pursue his dream of being a hero, entering one of the most prestigious academies of heroes.
I don't want to go into too much detail because it would ruin the experience for people who haven't seen it yet. Rather it is strange that by now someone has not seen this series, but you never know.
My Hero Academia is initially a funny and comical series. Over time we are given flashbacks of the protagonist and how his condition has affected him, but always with his own identity. In that sense, I applaud this series because it knows how to introduce these types of scenes without tiring in the attempt. Every important moment where these types of scenes are is moving, in that sense it is a series that makes you empathize with its protagonist. This is common in the genre, but obviously it is a theme to emphasize.
The strongest point in my opinion of this series is the combination of genres that it has, and how it executes them. Besides, another very interesting topic here is the variety of secondary characters it has, because not only do they have unique powers, but each one has its own stories and peculiarities. It is a series that is very refreshing in that sense, it is interesting how they show you all the competitiveness that exists between them and how the same protagonist addresses his insecurities in front of all these people, who have spent their entire lives learning to use the powers.
Obviously as classic shonen there are villains, where one called Shigaraki Tomura stands out, who is like a joker in basic terms, and Stain, which are certain failures of the system and the world that this series presents us, because it is not that they are bad just because, but are born from the failures of the context of the series.
The confrontation between these villains and the noble ideals that the heroes follow is interesting, because it gives you another perspective on the world of My Hero Academia. Obviously there are more of these, so in the series you can constantly expect these types of characters, who beyond being villains show us various sources of conflicts that exist in the world. While the characters are not particularly deep or anything like that, they are an interesting representation of the social problems such a world can cause.
I think that for anyone who has seen even one of his scenes it has seemed something spectacular, and that's for sure, because it has very fluid animations in the action scenes, where all the characters show off their skills, and I think it is one of the things that have attracted the most attention among the community. The studio that was in charge of animating My Hero Academia was the same one that was behind the two Fullmetal Alchemist adaptations, both the 2003 version and Brotherhood. Here animation is something else and an evolution for the same studio, they were completely surpassed, because not only will it impress you with its action scenes, but also with the effects, colors and artistic style it has, it is a visual marvel in every way.
It is sonically incredible, it is rare that at this point a shonen managed to be memorable in its soundtrack, but My Hero Academia is more than succeeded. Each scene is accompanied by epic OST's that will give you goosebumps, both in sad scenes and in action scenes, everything is very well set. It has flagship themes, so don't be surprised if you hear the same theme in multiple scenes, which is fine because a lot of these long series do the same thing.
In conclusion, I recommend My Hero Academia to anyone who is a fan of the genre, or even if you are not, because although it has aspects that can be improved, you may like something, it can be its characters, its world, its combats or whatever. . Even if you do not like history so much, it is a series that can amaze you, audiovisual is crazy, especially in action scenes. I don't think it's going to revolutionize anime or anything like that, but it deserves every one of the fans it has today, recommended.

Es el género insignia que la mayoría de los consumidores ven, y no es para menos obviamente, porque nos han brindado grandes series como Fullmetal Alchemist o Hunter x Hunter por poner ejemplos, pero de unos años para acá aunque el género ha gozado de popularidad, siempre suelen ser las mismas obras las que llevan el carro, como pueden ser Naruto, Dragon Ball, y One Piece. Es así como nos llegó My Hero Academia, que junto con Kimetsu no Yaiba se convirtió en uno de los más seguidos del género, y del que quiero hablar hoy especialmente.
Primero que nada me quiero centrar en hablar de su primera temporada, porque creo que merece su propia publicación, además de las demás temporadas.
My Hero Academia nos presenta un mundo de superhéroes clásico, donde todo el mundo, o por lo menos la mayoría cuenta con poderes únicos. Para la época donde nos sitúan, estos poderes ya han adoptado una importancia enorme, donde los utilizan para el trabajo, la vida cotidiana y por supuesto, el crimen. Las personas despiertan sus poderes desde muy temprana edad, aunque no todo es así, porque hay un pequeño porcentaje de personas en este mundo que no tienen poderes de ningún tipo, y de aquí partimos, porque nuestro protagonista, Izuku Midoriya, es precisamente de ese sector de personas. Desde pequeño Midoriya ha sido víctima de bullying por no tener poderes, todo por parte de sus compañeros de clases, y esto evidentemente lo golpea, porque desde que niño era fanático de los superhéroes. El tema principalmente es este, y sobre cómo nuestro protagonista perseguirá su sueño de ser un héroe, ingresando a una de las academias más prestigiosas de héroes.
No quiero dar muchos más detalles porque arruinaría la experiencia de la gente que aún no la ha visto. Más bien es raro que a estas alturas alguien no la haya visto esta serie, pero nunca se sabe.
My Hero Academia en un principio es una serie divertida y cómica. Con el tiempo nos van dando flashbacks del protagonista y cómo le ha afectado su condición, pero siempre con su propia identidad. En ese sentido le aplaudo a esta serie porque sabe introducir este tipo de escenas sin cansar en el intento. Cada momento importante donde estan este tipo de escenas es conmovedor, en ese sentido es una serie que te hace empatizar con su protagonista. Esto es común en el género, pero obviamente es un tema a recalcar.
El punto más fuerte a mi parecer de esta serie es la combinación de géneros que esta tiene, y cómo los ejecuta. Aparte, otro tema muy interesante acá es la variedad de personajes secundarios con las que cuenta, porque no sólo es que tengan poderes únicos, sino que cada uno tiene sus historias y peculiaridades. Es una serie que es muy refrescante en ese sentido, es interesante cómo te muestran toda la competitividad que hay entre ellos y cómo el mismo protagonista aborda sus inseguridades frente a toda esta gente, que llevan toda su vida aprendiendo a utilizar sus poderes.
Obviamente como shonen clásico hay villanos, donde destaca especialmente uno llamado Shigaraki Tomura, que es como un joker en términos basicos, y Stain, que son ciertas fallas del sistema y el mundo que nos plantea esta serie, porque no es que sean malos porque sí, sino que nacen de las fallas del contexto de la serie.
El enfrentamiento entre estos villanos y los nobles ideales que siguen los héroes es interesante, porque te da otra perspectiva del mundo de My Hero Academia. Obviamente hay más de estos, por lo que en la serie te puedes esperar constantemente este tipo de personajes, que más allá de ser villanos nos muestran varias fuentes de conflictos que existen en el mundo. Si bien no es que los personajes sean especialmente profundos ni nada por el estilo, son una interesante representación de los problemas sociales que un mundo así puede causar.
Creo que para cualquiera que haya visto aunque sea una de sus escenas le ha parecido algo espectácular, y eso es seguro, porque tiene animaciones en las escenas de acción muy fluidas, donde todos los personajes lucen sus habilidades, y creo que es una de las cosas que más ha llamado la atención entre la comunidad. El estudio que se encargó de animar My Hero Academia fue el mismo que estuvo detrás de las dos adaptaciones de Fullmetal Alchemist, tanto la versión de 2003 como Brotherhood. Aquí la animación es otra cosa y una evolución para el mismo estudio, se superaron completamente, porque no sólo te va a impresionar con sus escenas de acción, sino también con los efectos, los colores y el estilo artístico que tiene, es una maravilla visual en todo sentido.
Sonoramente es increíble, es raro que a estas alturas un shonen logré ser memorable en su banda sonora, pero My Hero Academia lo logró sobradamente. Cada escena está acompañada de OST's épicos que te pondrán la piel de gallina, tanto en escenas tristes como en las de acción, todo está muy bien ambientado. Tiene temas insignia, por lo que no te sorprendas si escuchas el mismo tema en varias escenas, lo cual está bien porque muchas de estas series largas hacen lo mismo.
En conclusión, recomiendo My Hero Academia a cualquiera que sea fan del género, o igualmente aunque no lo seas, porque aunque tiene aspectos que se pueden mejorar, algo te puede gustar, puede ser sus personajes, su mundo, sus combates o lo que sea. Incluso aunque no te guste tanto la historia es una serie que te puede maravillar, audiovisualmente es una locura, especialmente en las escenas de acción. No creo que vaya a revolucionar el anime ni nada por el estilo, pero se merece cada uno de los fans con los que cuenta hoy en día, recomendada.
