I haven't been posting in this amazing community and to be honest - I don't know why, cause probably I'm the biggest weeb on the planet 😂
I will start with introducing how I got into anime and how my Otaku soul evolved over years.
When I was young I was used to watching TV, even tho I had my PC, I wasn't smart enough to know that I can watch things online. Usually after school I've been rushing instantly to kiosk and buying the newspaper to check the TV programs schedule. Back then I had no channels that were fun, but it didn't took long for my parents to buy the package with more channels. Then I got two interesting channels Cartoon Network and Jetix. First anime I started watching on those channels was Pokemon.

I didn't even know that Pokemon is an anime, I thought its just normal cartoon but I've been already enjoying it a lot. I remember when my mom bought a Pikachu mascot.

I've been hugging this cute lightning guy every night 😂 I couldn't sleep without him.
The next amazing anime that I got into was Yu-Gi-Oh!

That was a really cool card game anime, I don't remember much about it, but I'm sure I was enjoying it a lot.
That leads to another great card anime that I found some day on Cartoon Network. It was called Duel Masters.

Because of that anime I got into cards IRL. I went to the shop and bought a lot of cards. Some of them were not cheap, but I formed my deck and started participating in tournaments. I've spent couple years on it and even won some tournaments. Thats how huge impact this anime had on me.
There was one more anime on Cartoon Network that I've used to watch. I tried so hard to delve deep into my memories to remember the name of this anime. 5 minutes ago I knew one thing, there was a very powerful guy that was wearing a mask. I tried to look for the title so I can introduce the anime to you guys, I was typing "masked girl", "masked man", "mask anime characters" and finally I managed to remember that the character was called Masquerade. After that it was easy to guess the title, the anime that lasted in my memories till today were called Bakugan.

It was one of my favorite animes as a kid.
It didn't last long until I got hooked into another anime, this time it was a very popular anime - Naruto.

Same as with the rest I had no idea its an anime, all of those titles I mentioned were dubbed in Polish. (haha how could I watch dubbed anime lol) but as a kid Naruto for me was a revolutionary discovery. Back then it was definitely the best thing I've ever saw in TV. I've been allways ready in front of my TV to watch the episodes until the very last episodes of first season. Unfortunetly I couldn't finish that because Jetix stopped broadcasting episodes. The era of TV has came to end for me. I turned my TV off and turned on my PC to find out more about Naruto. It surprised me but I found the episodes I was missing and also second season Naruto Shippuden. I was kinda mad since those episodes were in Japanese with Polish subtitles. I was so used to Polish dubbing. At this time I found out whats the anime and manga. It took me a couple episodes to love Japanese more than any other language. Since then I haven't turned on my TV til this day. As long as I can watch anime online I don't need TV at all. As far as I remember it took me 2 weeks to finish about 300 episodes. I've been spending about 12 hours per day on watching Naruto. I went crazy, changed my wallpaper on phone and PC to Naruto, started to listening to the soundtracks. I've became a huge fan of it.

I started browsing the sites with anime that I found. I couldn't believe how many good titles are there. I noticed that there is a lot of short titles with around ~12eps, but not so many titles as long as Naruto. Then I decided to start another long anime Bleach.

Finished this title in like 3 weeks and it quickly became my top1 anime, definitely my favorite. Of course the process of changing wallpapers, avatars, listening to soundtracks has begun. To be honest it haven't changed for me, til this day I can change my avatars and wallpapers after every anime I watch.Sometimes I was thinking how many monitors and phones would I need to set up all the wallpapers I want lol. Probably hundreds.😂
After finishing Bleach I decided to start with the short titles. 12 episodes , looks like easy peasy. I was watching one anime daily. After some time I created a profile on a site called myanimelist and started tracking what I've watched, what I plan to watch etc, I've finished hundreds of anime. At this time I started growing up a little bit and I was kinda horny LOL 😂 at this time my favorite genre of anime was Ecchi and one of my favorite anime back then was Highschool DXD and Highschool of the Dead.

At this point I found out what means waifu.

I started to be in love with 2D anime girls. Til this day my fetish haven't changed. I think I won't get a gf IRL unless she is a cosplayer and that type of girl is not easy to find🥺
After some time I downloaded Sony Vegas started making AMV's (Anime Music Video).
I've got to 40 subscribers and got a pretty decent amount of comments. At this time I've meet a girl who were also creating AMV's and I asked her for a help with effects. We quickly became a friends and she invited me to the anime event IRL. At this moment I felt like I leveled up as a weeb. I meet a lot of other weebs. Unfortunetly the story with the girl and her friends ended up with a sad ending and I have never participated in a anime event again.

A little bit of trauma. 😰
Time have passed and I grow up to the point where Ecchi wasn't my favorite genre anymore. I started watching incredible titles, most popular ones with the highest ratings like
Death Note

Attack on Titan

Code Geass

Those 3 are still my favorite animes of all times until this day. Especially Death Note and Code Geass. I loved those series and in my opinion those are the greatest anime ever and I doubt something can beat them in future. Just before watching Death Note and Code Geass I've grow up to the point in which I started realizing that world is not so beatiful as I was teached by parents, its a lot more dark, rotten and corrupted. Some kind of sense of justice have been born in my mind. Thats why I enjoyed Death Note and Code Geass so much, because those two anime are about changing the rotten world. Sometimes my parents ask me why I'm so smart if only thing I do is watch anime. I told them "Thats why I'm so smart, because I watch anime". I really think anime can do a lot of good things for us besides of fun, help us understand the world, teach us various things. Almost every anime have some smart message for its recipients.

Since this time my favorite genre is Drama til this day. Of course I still watch a lot of anime, different genres, but to really rate it high it needs to make me feel. Feel a lot of emotions, sadness, happiness, hardships. If anime can make me cry it means its so good. By this day I've watched almost every single anime. Of course there are some titles I still need to watch but not as good as those I've already seen. So far I've been enjoying anime since I was 10years old and now I'm 26. I guess it won't change. I can't wait to see the new animes that are comming out in year 2022.

HELLO Friend!~

I hope you don't end up like me.
Holo best girl and waifu.

Hello my friendo. Haha If I decide to start buying figurines I will become bankrupt. I agree tho Holo is cute as fuck but I got to the point in which i can't have one waifu, I want them all, can't choose between haha
It's true!, I did get bankrupt for a time. haha.
RIP wallet :(
very interesting your evolution in the world of anime, at the beginning of my life I also did not know the meaning of Anime and some like Pokemon I considered them just another cartoon haha. I think everyone at some stage of his life went through the moment of being an absolute fan of Ecchi xD. I share with you the great love to Code Geass, I also have it among my top 3 and that was one of the first anime I saw complete.
Thanks man, I'm glad to hear that u like Code Geass too. Its really a masterpiece. And yea with Ecchi, its just like u said :D
Cool story about your journey with anime man. I agree that anime can teach us a lot and I know I learned a lot of life lessons from anime as a child. For me the childhood animes were different but that's the beautiful thing about it in my opinion that there are so many great ones out there and everyone has their own kind of journey thorough the anime world.
I was surprised you didn't mention Tokyo Ghoul actually but you did mention some of the best ones for sure. Nice post man and shoutout Davido-kun the OG weeb XD
Thanks man. Haha Davido-kun the real OG! And yea I agree with that, theres a lot of different animes. Thats beatiful. Right, I actually made a mistake not adding Tokyo Ghoul to Death Note, Code Geass and Attack on Titan. Thinking of it now, this title should be along with those that I listed, it changed my life a lot.
