Greetings everyone, welcome to my blog once again here in The Anime realm. Today I'll be discussing about a really interesting anime with an impressive story called Ragna crimson. Now does it follow the traditional time travel pattern?? Well there's only one way to find out so let's get to it.
In a world where dragon-like creatures terrorize humanity forcing mankind to live in constant fear of attacks from these monsters, lives a young dragon hunter named Ragna with below average fighting skills. He pales in comparison to other hunters and might just be one of the weakest in this very field. Ragna had just one ambition in his life which was to protect his partner Leo- a little girl who happens to be a prodigy in the art of dragon slaying.
During the course of his journey with Leo, Ragna experiences little to improvement in his skills which continues to break him until he eventually receives a surprising power up from an unexpected source, HIMSELF.
Ragna's future self who has been through countless battles with dragons gaining experiences, powering up and also watching his comrades die as well makes contact with his present/past self transferring all his knowledge, experience, fighting techniques and memories to his past self sacrificing the future for the chance of a better timeline when where he doesn't have to lose his comrades to achieve his objectives.
Now filled with the power, memories and experiences of the future, the present Ragna leaves his partner Leo behind to protect her from the gruesome death that was her fate in the future and embarks on a dangerous question with one goal in mind: To eliminate every dragon. During the heat of an encounter with the dragons, Ragna crosses paths with crimson and teams him because his future self and crimson were partners working together to destroy the dragons.
Crimson is a mysterious being with magical abilities, he has a deep hatred for the dragon monarchs and since his interests align with Ragna they both decide to join forces to achieve their interests, making alliances along their journey and Ragna protecting the human populace as they go.
Besides Ragna sending an upgrade to his past self, other characters also displayed time-like abilities one of which is The winged Monarch Ultimatia. Ultimatia is one of the six leaders of the dragons possessing the ability to stop, rewind and alter time. This made her a formidable threat when she is able to defeat her one true enemy - FEAR.
Originally, Ultimatia was not always the evil human killing dragon leader she is. She was once a human belonging to a religious group of all woman with the same faces and powers untill something snapped and her ideals altered turning her into the monstrosity she is now. Ultimatia and her followers were eventually during the final battle of the first season by the combined effort of Crimson, Ragna and assistance from newly found allies.
Ragna crimson is a beautiful story that does not follow the usual time travelling pattern but remains a fundamental part to it. The plot revolves around the main future self of the main character manipulating time to gift his past self the necessary abilities to defeat threats and secure the future. The anime is a must watch filled with interesting fight scenes, a hero who won't give up and cool looking dragons with interesting powers.
I highly recommend, you all should give it a try thanks.
