Hi, I want to start this post by apologizing to the people who upvote my latest posts. I was on a hive police list because my account had been hacked a while back. I guess the security system detected it and added my account to that list. I thought I had broken hive's rules. I hope the problem is resolved; it all depends on what happens with this post.
Okay, I'm learning how to use GIMP, this Linux image manipulation program. I was trying to draw a landscape to test how it feels to draw; it reminded me of Paint in Windows.
I started with a blank canvas and just added different shades of purple, to make some simple hills.
Well, I've been experimenting with the pixel art settings in GIMP. I only changed the default image: width 16, height 16, and default grid, horizontal and vertical spacing at 1.00.
After changing that, you can make pixel art. Try drawing a little parrot.

I add some shading with darker green pixels and finally I give it a yellow background.
