COLD — Hive

Hoy con un humor un poco más positivo, decidí a sentarme y dibujar…. Esta vez quise esmerarme en hacer un retrato bonito, me imagine unos enormes ojos grandes que fueran fríos, dentro de ellos un copo de nieve, la temática navideña estará bastante presente en estos últimos meses del año y por eso es que termine este retrato con mucha ilusión y me gusto bastante.

Today, in a slightly more positive mood, I decided to sit down and draw…. This time I wanted to put extra effort into making a beautiful portrait. I imagined enormous, cold eyes, with a snowflake inside them. The Christmas theme will be quite prevalent in these last months of the year, and that's why I finished this portrait with great enthusiasm, and I liked it quite a lot.

Proceso/Process

Realice el boceto y comencé a pintar la piel usando tonalidades frías y desaturadas, poco a poco agregue mas colores para darle forma a todo el rostro, utilice, azules, marrones, rosas, todos en una gama muy opaca. Luego comencé a mezclar los colores para dejar un resultado un poco más limpio.

I made the sketch and began painting the skin using cool, desaturated tones. Gradually, I added more colors to shape the entire face, using blues, browns, and pinks, all in a very muted range. Then I started blending the colors to achieve a cleaner result.

Luego pinte el cabello usando un azul muy oscuro y agregue iluminaciones con un azul un poco mas claro, pero de manera muy sutil. Como siempre tambien quise profundizar algunas zonas del rostro a las cuales le agregue mas color y sombras, después añadí copos de nieve cayendo alrededor y tambien ilumine un poco mas los ojos y el fondo.

Then I painted the hair using a very dark blue and added highlights with a slightly lighter blue, but very subtly. As always, I also wanted to add depth to some areas of the face, so I added more color and shadows. Then I added snowflakes falling around it and also brightened the eyes and the background a bit more.
