Resentful eyes

Buenas noches amigos. Como sabrán los que siguen mi arte, me gusta de vez en cuando hacer retratos en blanco y negro, la razón la explico siempre, pero básicamente es que me gusta practicar de vez en cuando en escala de grises además de que los retratos en blanco y negro muchas veces trasmiten más sentimientos que algo a color, por ejemplo, nostalgia, tristeza, incluso ira. Pintar en blanco y negro es bastante sencillo al menos para mí, tardo mucho menos que un dibujo a color donde puedo durar muchas horas, aquí, en cambio, solo debo preocuparme por colocar de manera correcta las sombras y luces solo usando una gama de grises. Aunque me hubiese gustado también hacer este retrato a color, por que siento que tiene bastante potencial para colocar muchas tonalidades rojas que tanto me gusta resaltar en el rostro, sin embargo, estoy contenta con el resultado, espero que les guste.

As you know those who follow my art, I like from time to time to do portraits in black and white, the reason I always explain, but basically is that I like to practice from time to time in grayscale plus the black and white portraits often convey more feelings than something in color, for example, nostalgia, sadness, even anger.
Painting in black and white is quite easy at least for me, it takes me much less time than a color drawing where I can last many hours, here, however, I only have to worry about placing the shadows and lights correctly using only a range of grays.
Although I would have also liked to do this portrait in color, because I feel it has enough potential to place many red tones that I like so much to highlight in the face, however, I am happy with the result, I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Realice el boceto, me gusto la idea de hacer un retrato bastante cerca sin muchos detalles alrededor solo quería resaltar el rostro, empecé a colorear con escala de grises usando grises claros, rellene todo el rostro añadiendo luces y sombras, después en una nueva capa donde aplique mas grises para formar por completo el rostro, añadí una nueva capa y comencé a mezclar todos los tonos dejando una piel mas suave pero con algo de textura.

I made the sketch, I liked the idea of making a close up portrait without many details around, I just wanted to highlight the face, I started to color with grayscale using light grays, I filled the whole face adding lights and shadows, then in a new layer where I applied more grays to form the whole face, I added a new layer and started to mix all the tones leaving a softer skin but with some texture.

Pinte debajo del rostro con negro, como mencione solo quería resaltar el rostro, luego pinte el cabello con gris oscuro, agregue otra capa para darle más vida al cabello, añadiendo luces y sombras, luego añadí una capa donde oscurecí un poco la zona de las ojeras y dentro de los ojos, después coloque una capa de luz donde resalte los ojos, la punta de la nariz y las luces en los labios, finalice editando la foto un poco dándole una tonalidad un poco más fría a estos grises.

I painted under the face with black, as I mentioned I just wanted to highlight the face, then I painted the hair with dark gray, I added another layer to give more life to the hair, adding lights and shadows, then I added a layer where I darkened a little the area of the dark circles and inside the eyes, then I placed a layer of light where I highlighted the eyes, the tip of the nose and the lights on the lips, I finished editing the photo a little giving a little cooler tone to these grays.
