¡Hola comunidad! Espero que estén muy bien, hoy tenia muchas ganas de continuar un dibujo que empecé hace un par de días para mi entrada al concurso de @splinterlands de esta semana, esta vez quise elegir a Mermaid Healer es una carta que veía bastante complicado de representar, sin embargo esta semana quise probar y ver si lograba plasmar la idea que tenia en mente en mi lienzo, jamás he dibujado ningún tipo de sirena es la primera vez que hago una criatura así, por suerte creo que salió mucho mejor de lo que esperaba, trabaje varios días en esta pieza, con mucha paciencia. Elegí esta carta porque quería retarme a mí misma, según leí Mermaid Healer es una curadora experta en remover maldiciones, me llamo mucho la atención una sirena con sus cualidades, realmente me pareció super genial, pero mi idea era hacerla lucir de una manera distinta quería una piel mas ligera, una paleta de colores diferente, un fondo acuático lleno de tonos fantasía y modificando su atuendo a uno mas sensual, normalmente las sirenas se caracterizan por ser hermosas (a veces) y quería mezclar un poco esa teoría con esta carta, espero que les guste el resultado.

I hope you are very well, today I really wanted to continue a drawing that I started a couple of days ago for my entry to this week's @splinterlands art contest, this time I wanted to choose Mermaid Healer, it's a card that I thought was quite complicated to represent, however, this week I wanted to try and see if I could capture the idea I had in mind on my canvas, I have never drawn any type of mermaid, it is the first time I have made a creature like this, luckily I think it came out much better than I expected, I worked several days on this piece, with a lot of patience.
I chose this card because I wanted to challenge myself, as I read Mermaid Healer is an expert healer in removing curses, a mermaid with her qualities caught my attention, she really seemed super cool, but my idea was to make her look in a different way I wanted a lighter skin, a different color palette, an aquatic background full of fantasy tones and changing her outfit to a more sensual one, normally mermaids are characterized by being beautiful (sometimes) and I wanted to mix that theory a bit with this card, I hope you like the result.

Proceso/Process

Realmente pensé mucho que carta podía elegir, hasta que vi nuevamente a esta sirena, enseguida comencé a hacer mi boceto para ello tarde varias horas pensando en como poder representarla, busque varias imágenes de referencia para poder hacer mi propia cola porque como les mencione, jamás había pintado una sirena, no fue tan complicado hacer la cola, pero seguía teniendo dudas si realmente quedaría bien y tenia mucho miedo de comenzar a pintar y hacerlo mal jaja, en una nueva capa comencé a pintar la piel para ello elegi algunos tonos de piel oscuros y desaturados con una tonalidad azul pálido, fui aplicando los colores base y en nuevas capas difuminándolos hasta tener la forma del rostro, luego pinte su torso y su cuerpo, elegi pintar la cola con varios tonos aqua, azul, verde, naranja y morado, realice esta mezcla de colores difuminándolos para crear una mezcla bastante buena entre la cola, pinte su cabello con un tono parecido a la de la carta original.

I really thought a lot about what caes I could choose, until I saw this mermaid again, I immediately began to make my sketch for it, it took me several hours thinking about how to represent it, I looked for several reference images to be able to make my own tail because as I mentioned, I never I had painted a mermaid, it was not so complicated to make the tail, but I still had doubts if it would really look good and I was very afraid to start painting and do it wrong LOL, in a new layer I began to paint the skin for it I chose some skin tones dark and desaturated with a pale blue hue, I was applying the base colors and in new layers blurring them until I had the shape of the face, then I painted her torso and her body, I chose to paint the tail with various shades of aqua, blue, green, orange and purple , make this mix of colors by blurring them to create a fairly good mix between the tail, paint the hair with a tone similar to that of the original card.

Trabaje un poco mas su cola para hacerla mas realista y agregue detalles de luces y sombras al cabello, pinte sus guantes usando un tono gris claro, para el fondo quería un mar profundo asi que aplique un tono base azul oscuro y en una nueva capa comencé a pintar los detalles con diferentes tonos de azul. Pinte las cruces en sus pechos, y tres gemas en la cintura, decidí pintar su cetro incrustado en la superficie del mar, comenzando a colocar un tono dorado de base para darle detalles mas adelante, continue trabajando con la sirena antes de continuar con el fondo y pinte las caracolas en sus orejas.

Work a little more on her tail to make it more realistic and add light and shadow details to the hair, paint her gloves using a light gray tone, for the background I wanted a deep sea so I applied a dark blue base tone and on a new layer I started to paint the details with different shades of blue.
I painted the crosses on her chest, and three gems on her waist, I decided to paint her scepter embedded in the surface of the sea, starting to place a base gold tone to give details later, continue working with the mermaid before finish with the background and paint the seashell on her ears.

Pinte su diadema con un diamante morado y continue el fondo agregando tonos claros y oscuros para crear pequeños bultos, añadí un poco mas de brillo en su ojo, quería un rojo que deslumbrara, agregue una nueva capa de brillos resaltando diferentes partes de su cuerpo que necesitaban un poco de luz, pinte su cetro agregando detalles con tonos tierra y morados, para que el fondo luciese más mágico pinte algunos puntos de luz, finalmente aplique un ajuste de color a toda la imagen dando asi más profundidad y una tonalidad un poco mas verde, también aplique una capa de brillo con un tono morado y así resaltar un poco mas su cetro con una luz que rebota en su cola.

Paint her headband with a purple diamond and continue the background adding light and dark tones to create little bumps, I added a little more sparkle on her eye, I wanted a red that would dazzle, I added a new layer with “screen” mode and highlighting different parts of her body that needed a bit of light, paint the scepter adding details with earth tones and purples, to make the background look more magical paint some points of light, finally apply a color adjustment to the whole image giving more depth and a little more of green tonality, I also applied a layer of light with a purple tone and thus highlight the scepter a little more with a light that bounces off her tail.

Fue un verdadero reto, pero a mi me encantan los retos y aprender cosas nuevas, espero que les haya gustado tanto como a mi.

It was a real challenge, but I love challenges and learning new things, I hope you liked it as much as I did.
