Hello lovely artists, this is @juliakponsford and I will be using this account to make the main community notices and also to crosspost and reblog artists that I think deserve more recognition!
We are finally settled in at our new home, the Hive blockchain! This post will be the new pinned post to sum up all the information about this community, rules and what we are aiming for.

Alien Art Hive was created to be a fun, low pressure community for artists/musicians to share their crazy creations and possibly collaborate!

Accepted content
Content does not need to be directly about ALIENS, this is a place for people to post art/music that is otherworldly, inter-dimensional, unusual or strangely beautiful!
Genres that fit:
alien stuff (of course)
psychedelic style art
surrealism
experimental
visionary art
spiritual or occult/esoteric
space themed
outsider art
strange and bizarre themes or styles
music/writing/poetry are also welcome
Basically anything that falls outside of the traditional categories would qualify!
Feel free to post any creative medium or style you can dream of. The only firm criteria that will be enforced is that the content must be original art made by you. I am a strong supporter of artistic freedom and I see nothing wrong with taking inspiration from other artists or remixing to create something entirely new. If however the art is not made entirely from scratch please cite your sources so people can understand exactly what they are curating.
Curation
I personally work with several curation initiatives, minnowsupport, ocd and c-squared and I know that many other amazing curators keep an eye on this community for submissions! High quality posts with process images and descriptions of the work will always have a better chance at curation. This is by no means a requirement to post in the community but is something you may want to keep in mind.

If you have any questions or just want to say hello feel free to pop into the Alien Art Hive discord! It's also integrated on peakd so you can say hello right from your browser.
I have set up some automation so everything that is posted to the community gets brought into the alien-art-alerts channel! It also gets tweeted, you can follow the account here and support by retweeting!

Oh maybe this would be my 'singularity painting' place to post sometimes :) I'm still trying to figure out communities... Somehow I feel like there is MORE to do and I am getting MORE behind even though we are in lockdown? It's an odd time eh @alienarthive @juliakponsford
I agree it's a super odd time, I seem to be dragging my feet on getting anything done and I'm very indecisive! Your singularity paintings would definitely fit in well!
