Community Rules / What is allowed?
We get a lot of questions about what type of content is allowed in this community. The most common question we get asked is: Does the art need to be about ALIENS?
Art posted to this community does not have to be about ALIENS despite the name!
We allow any original art as long as it's made by you, this includes visual art, video, writing, poetry, music etc. While we accept a very broad definition of art there are many niche communities on HIVE so if there is a more appropriate community we do suggest you post there so you can help that niche grow.
We also allow AI generated art though we do have some guidelines for that. We would prefer you state clearly somewhere in the post/title if the art is made by AI. You can read our policy on AI art and community curation here: ALIEN ART HIVE RULES ON AI ART
Hopefully it goes without saying but any account posting plagiarism, deceitfulness, art theft etc. will be muted from the community.
OCD Communities Incubation Program
Alien Art Hive has been part of the OCD community incubation program since May 2020! This has really helped our little community grow and reward tons of amazing artists! At the time of this post we have 4,947 subscribers!
I am sure you have already noticed, @castleberry is our curator and has been doing an amazing job! He now makes a few curation posts per week as there is so much amazing art. Castleberry loves to hear about the background, inspiration and process behind your alien art so if you want to be curated keep that in mind :)
Community contests coming soon 👀
We have been working behind the scenes to launch community contests! We won't give a lot of details right now but this will be a regular series of contests on a monthly schedule (TBD). The contests will have a different theme each time around and will be a component of our OCD curation. Hopefully these contest will involve some cross community collaboration and get you thinking outside the box, keep an eye out for an announcement coming soon!

We have onboarded a new moderator as our little community keeps growing <3 If you are a regular Alien Art Hive poster you will know the amazing art of @chopiliart. They will be helping out with community contests and more!
LEO artist invitation
The LEO team has put out a call for artists to submit art for their first generation NFTs
What's in it for you?
Anyone who creates art for these quests and posts them on any Hive art community of their choosing, will be assessed for curation by @leo.voter and @ocd as well as stack Experience Points in the Adoption Campaign which has many, many prizes.
Then, if you beat the Final Boss of this Art Adventure, you will get:
- 1 Limited edition Boss Slayer NFT - That one of you will design
500 Leo Power delegation for a month. - 1 Raffle ticket for our HiveFest ticket giveaway later this year.
- If we pick your art piece for one of the NFTs, you will receive a 10k $LEO delegation for the next 3 months so you can spread the love on Threads and Leo Finance posts of NFTs.
