Victoria
100 x 120 cm
canvas, oil
Artem Tikhonkov
For the last three years I have plunged headlong into painting.
This is a happy time for me, so I comprehend the real me.
In the process of drawing, sometimes it turns out to enter two rivers at the same time, touch the flow of beauty, and plunge into the waters of the present moment.
Each process of creation is something magical for me, but that day was my birthday and that day itself portends something special.
My beloved Victoria presented me a big canvas on birthday. And I have never had such large canvases.
For several days I imagined how I draw my abstraction on it.
It kept changing in my mind.
And when it came time to draw, my head was completely cleared of all past thoughts, and I only had time to follow how layer by layer the picture appeared as if by itself.
The smell of oil and the power of large brushes, the color and twists of strokes, like fabulous roads, took me into the world of eternal beauty.
At one point, I looked at it in its entirety, it was not yet finished, but suddenly I recognized it as if I had seen it many times somewhere.
Then we like became friends with it in a special way, and this gave me a new wave of energy and strength to finish the work.
My beloved carefully stirred the paint for me and cleaned the brushes, did everything so that my dance of colors would not be interrupted for a second :)
In the end I looked at the canvas, which a few hours ago was a white cloth, and now I saw love and the eternal victory of beauty.
Victoria is the name of this work.
The victory of beauty, and the name of my loved one, and part of me, is present with its light in all my paintings)

I love the movement and colour it has the feel of the post war (ww2) artists, in motion and brushwork. I love it @artvik
