There are moments in life when, without expecting or planning it, we open that great book once more, a book that may be very large or not so large, a book where every page holds endless memories, ranging from simple, everyday things to great experiences, whilst reflecting on events that have taken place, circumstances and, above all, people’s attitudes. It’s incredible how, looking back from a distance in time and knowing parts of the jigsaw puzzle that makes up that whole past, we can confirm what we thought or what we were told, though perhaps on some occasions our perspective changes.
The new things we learn become part of that book, adding new pieces to the story – whether it’s an old family history or our own. But I’m glad to say that all these new insights haven’t changed certain things I already knew; rather, they’ve helped me to better understand many attitudes. Meeting new people, learning their stories and observing their characters has, fortunately, not altered my own story; as I say, I can make sense of moments when I didn’t even exist and bring certain cycles to a close.

Design process
The design was created entirely in Photoshop CS6 without the use of AI, using 14 copyright-free images spread across 16 layers.
On a white layer I placed an image of some writing and, on top of that, a section of the open book, which I duplicated to complete the other side of the book, as I didn’t like the original, I wanted it wide open so that I could then add the images that were to follow. Now, still working on the book and erasing the excess parts from each of the images I’d placed on top, I added an image of old photographs, which spanned both pages using focal light blending.
On top of these, I arranged four images in different positions and scales, cropping parts of them as needed; these depicted flowers and watercolours, two on each page and in normal mode. Using the darker colour blend, I placed half of the image of the text with butterflies on each page. Then, using the same blend, I added the image of the cemetery, evoking those who are no longer with us and their memories, and the image of a woman, symbolising myself.
Finally, I placed the remaining images using the aforementioned blend in various parts of the design, intermingling them with the rest.
I send you all a big hello and see you next time.
Thanks for watching and reading this far.

We always have plenty of resources at our disposal that can help us understand a situation or a person. Yet we also have countless ways of deceiving ourselves, choosing to believe what we wish were true rather than what is actually there. We make excuses for things, overlook what is obvious, and give second chances to situations and people that may not deserve them.
Remember, we already know everything we need to know, but that wisdom is kept in a very well-guarded place. And yes, it is accessible, in silence, in harmony... and that place is your heart.
Your design today is truly beautiful. I know you're going through a process right now, and I also know that you will come out of it stronger than ever. I really do.
He dado segundas oportunidades a quien no lo merecía y salió mal. Aprendí de ello.
No te culpes.

Hello, Amonet, how are you?
You do such great work on your creations; looking at the step-by-step process, one can see everything you put into making the memory book look so beautiful.
I loved the images you chose.
Have a wonderful day.
Thank you so so much Abi!!!💗💗💗
Good day, dear friend @avdesing, how are you?
It’s not always a good idea to open the book of memories—especially if you aren’t prepared to face them again—though sometimes it can be helpful, as it allows for inner healing and creates space to begin writing about new experiences.
I really love these posts that invite reflection.
Your "book of memories" turned out fantastic.
Have a beautiful afternoon.
Feliz tarde!!
Good afternoon, @avdesing. The design captures this very well: how elements from the past—some of them new, as you mention—offer a perspective on the past. You speak of a new understanding of the past, even though the past itself remains unchanged. I find it truly remarkable how you’ve managed to articulate such an introspective and complex process so effectively through a drawing. The drawing conveys a sense of serenity... and I’m glad for that.
Have a wonderful afternoon!!
Sometimes learning new things about the past doesn't change the events, but it helps us understand people and situations differently.
Exactly!!! Thank you so much!!🤗
