There is a world, far away from ours, a world where money as we know it does not exist, a world that millennia ago overcame the belief that power and money, whether in paper or coins, are necessary to be important or to buy things.

Advanced beings whose skin has turned purple, a symbol of change and spiritual transmutation, beings who have understood that the most valuable thing in the entire universe is time. They are aliens who do not need to feed themselves as we do or buy things with the consumerism that is rampant among earthlings. Rather, they are beings who seek to better themselves and improve, but to improve things that take time, and that is their currency, represented by parts of clocks.

In exchange for various tasks, they obtain these pieces, which are merely symbolic, but when they have a certain amount and put them all together, they magically become a clock. The clocks can be of various shapes and sizes, and their design can vary, depending on the tastes of each alien. The clock knows this.

The more pieces you collect and put together, the bigger and more sophisticated the clock will be, until it reaches a maximum and the alien can ask for various things in exchange for the clock. The things they can measure are not material, but qualities to improve the soul, such as wisdom, lifespan, talents or gifts such as vision, telekinesis and much more. Everything will depend on the creativity and imagination of each alien. But time and clocks are the key, the currency for achieving intangible goods that strengthen the spirit.

Greetings to the entire Alien Art Hive community. Today I want to participate again in the contest proposed by @ezuntimmy with the support of the community, now in its fourth edition. I love these kinds of initiatives that bring artists together and allow the community to interact and grow.

So I am joining this contest, contributing my imagination and my designs. My inspiration skyrocketed when I learned the theme, extraterrestrial currency, and considering that they are likely to be highly evolved, I thought it could be more important than money, in the sense that we humans take it. That's why I think time is the most valuable thing there is, and since I'm fascinated by that theme and clocks, I combined all those themes.

To create this design, I used copyright-free images, the sources of which I have listed at the end of the post, as well as images created with the free version of Dreamina, in order to generate the alien I had in mind. In this case, I generated a lot of images because my intention was to create an alien woman, purple in colour, but with energetic eyes, and where the clocks were also the protagonists.

Design process

I created the design entirely in Photoshop CS6 with four copyright-free images and two generated with the free version of Dreamina.

First, I created the universe and alien planet environment, using the image of the universe or stars as a base and placing the first image of a planet seen from space on top of it. I arranged it in two layers with darker colour and focal light blends.

Then I superimposed the second image of a planet in three layers with focal light, screen and soft light blends, and on top of these layers I placed the third image of the planet, in two layers with darker colour and focal light blends.

Finally, I worked on the two images generated with Dreamina, arranging each of them in three layers with focal light, lighter colour and normal blends, after erasing some of the background in each of them. I also enhanced the brightness and contrast in both, because the originals were very dark.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Existe un mundo, muy lejano al nuestro, un mundo donde no existe el dinero como nosotros lo conocemos, un mundo que ha superado hace milenios esa creencia de la necesidad de tener poder y dinero, sea en papel o monedas, para ser importante o comprar cosas.

Seres avanzados cuya piel se ha convertido a color morado, símbolo del cambio y la transmutación del espíritu, seres que han comprendido que lo más valioso o lo que tiene más valor en el universo entero es el tiempo. Son aliens que no necesitan alimentarse como nosotros o comprar cosas con el desenfreno del consumismo que habita entre los terrestres. Sino que son seres que buscan superarse y mejorar, pero mejorar cosas que llevan tiempo y esa es su moneda, y la representan mediante partes de relojes.

En el intercambio por distintas tareas consiguen esas piezas que son meramente simbólicas pero que al tener cierta cantidad y al juntarlas todas se convierten como por magia en un reloj. Los relojes pueden ser de diversa forma y a la vista, su diseño, puede variar, eso depende de los gustos de cada alien. El reloj lo sabe.

Cuantas más piezas se juntes y unan, más grande y sofisticado será el reloj, hasta alcanzar un máximo y el alien puede pedir diversas cosas, como un intercambio con el reloj. Las cosas que pueden medir no son materiales, sino cualidades a mejorar del alma, como sabiduría, tiempo de vida, talentos o dones como la visión, telequinesia y mucho más. Todo dependerá de la creatividad e imaginación de cada alien. Pero el tiempo y los relojes son la clave, la moneda para alcanzar bienes intangibles que fortalecen el espíritu.

Saludos a toda la comunidad de Alien Art Hive. Hoy quiero participar nuevamente en el concurso que nos propone @ezuntimmy con el apoyo de la comunidad, en su cuarta edición. Me encantan este tipo de iniciativas que acercan a los artistas, permiten que la comunidad interactúe y crezca.

Así me uno a este concurso, aportando mi imaginación y mis diseños. Mi inspiración se disparó al saber el tema, moneda extraterrestre, y teniendo en cuenta que es altamente probable que ellos sean muy evolucionados, pensé en que podría ser más importante que el dinero, en el sentido que nosotros, los humanos, lo tomamos. Por eso me parece que el tiempo es lo más valioso que hay y como me fascina ese tema y los relojes combiné todos esos temas.

Para realizar este diseño utilicé imágenes sin derechos de autor de las cuales dejo las fuentes al final del post y también imágenes creadas con Dreamina en su versión gratuita, para poder generar el alien que tenía en mente. Y en este caso generé muchísimas imágenes ya que mi intención era conseguir un alien, mujer, color morado, pero con ojos con energía y donde los relojes fueran los protagonistas también.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño lo realicé completamente en Photoshop CS6 con cuatro imágenes sin derechos de autor y dos generadas con Dreamina versión gratuita.

Primero cree el ambiente del universo y el planeta extraterrestre, usando de base la imagen del universo o estrellas y sobre ella coloqué la primera imagen de un planeta visto desde el espacio. La dispuse en dos capas con fusiones de color más oscuro y luz focal.

Luego superpuse la segunda imagen de un planeta en tres capas con fusiones de luz focal, trama y luz suave y sobre estas capas puse la tercera imagen de planeta, en dos capas con fusiones de color más oscuro y luz focal.

Finalmente trabajé las dos imágenes generadas con Dreamina, cada una de ellas las dispuse en tres capas con las fusiones de luz focal, color más claro y normal, borrando previamente algo del fondo en cada una de ellas. También realcé en ambas el brillo y el contraste, porque las originales estaban muy oscuras.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
