The idea for this design first took shape in my mind as sepia tones; I wanted it to be in those shades, something delicate, simple and even minimalist. But I wasn’t too keen on how the image combinations looked, as I’d found two beautiful countryside landscapes, yet I wanted them to feature leaves or flowers, and when I applied the light blend, they didn’t look right. So I spent quite a long time searching for something that would simply be perfect.
But the idea took a different turn when I found some lovely images of women whose clothing looked like ink or paint, and that’s when the final design began to take shape in my mind. Whilst I kept the sepia tones for the background and the details, I wanted the main image and the ones on either side, which symbolise femininity, elegance and delicacy, to feature black and red so they would stand out from the rest. I loved the final result. It wasn’t something I realised straight away, but rather something that took shape during the process.

La idea de este diseño surgió primero como colores sepias en mi cabeza, quería fuera en esas tonalidades, algo delicado, simple y hasta minimalista. Pero no me gustaba mucho como quedaban las combinaciones de imágenes ya que había buscado dos paisajes de campo hermosos, pero quería que tuviera hojas o flores y al colocar la fusión de luminosidad no quedaban bien, por lo que estuve un largo rato buscando algo que simplemente quedara perfecto.
Pero la idea fue cambiando de camino, cuando encontré unas imágenes preciosas de mujeres donde su vestimenta parece tinta o pintura y es ahí donde en mi mente cobró forma el resultado del diseño. Si bien mantuve la tonalidad sepia para el fondo y los detalles, la imagen principal y las de los lados que simbolizan la femineidad, la elegancia y la delicadeza quería que tuvieran negro y rojo para resaltar del resto. Me encantó el resultado final. No fue algo que intuí de inmediato sino algo que cobró forma durante el proceso.

Design process
The design was created entirely in Photoshop CS6 without the use of AI, using 11 royalty-free images spread across 12 layers.
For the background, I chose a beige coloured image so that the sepia tones would later blend in. Then, on either side of the design, I placed half an image of leaves using the ‘Lighten’ blending mode so that the colour would match the background, and I added the ‘Add Edge’ filter to highlight the outline of the leaves. Next, I arranged the two countryside landscapes side by side using the ‘Overlay’ blending mode. The images are superimposed, and I applied a layer mask to the top one so that I could use the gradient tool to soften the transition between them.
I then placed the street lamp and the lantern on the design using the ‘Lighten’ blending mode, and the inkwell with the quill using ‘Normal’ mode. I applied the ‘Added Edges’ filter to all three images to emphasise the edges. I placed the images of the women in yellow dresses near the previous images, using the ‘Screen’ blending mode and increasing the brightness, plus the ‘Added Edges’ filter.
Finally, I worked on the image of the woman with the hat and the woman in red with the umbrella. I placed the first one after the first layer, which is the background, and beneath all the others, using the ‘Darker Colour’ blending mode and erasing part of the background and edges to blend it with the rest of the design, then applied the same filter I’d been using. I positioned the woman in red with the umbrella on top of the hat from the previous image, using the ‘Lighter Colour’ blending mode and the same filter as before.

Proceso del diseño
El diseño está realizado completamente en el programa Photoshop CS6 sin uso de IA con 11 imágenes sin derechos de autor distribuidas en 12 capas.
Para el fondo elegí una imagen color beige para que luego combinaran los colores sepias. Luego a cada lado del diseño puse la mitad de una imagen de hojas con la fusión de luminosidad para que el color se adapte al fondo y agregue el filtro de bordes añadidos para resaltar el contorno de las hojas. Luego dispuse uno al lado del otro los dos paisajes de campo con la fusión de superponer. Las imágenes están superpuestas y en la de arriba coloqué una máscara de capa para que con la herramienta degradado pudiera difuminar la unión entre ellas.
Luego dispuse sobre el diseño la farola y el farol con la fusión de luminosidad y el tintero con la pluma en modo normal. A las tres imágenes les agregué el filtro de bordes añadidos para resaltar los bordes. Coloqué las imágenes de las mujeres con vestidos amarillos cerca de las imágenes anteriores, con la fusión de trama y aumentando la luz, más el filtro de bordes añadidos.
Finalmente trabajé la imagen de la mujer con el sombrero y la mujer de rojo con el paraguas. La primera la puse luego de la primera capa que es el fondo y debajo de todas las demás con la fusión de color más oscuro y borrando parte del fondo y bordes para combinarla con el resto del diseño y le puse el mismo filtro que venía usando. La mujer de rojo con el paraguas la situé en el sombrero de la anterior con la fusión de color más claro y el mismo filtro que antes.
