Hellooo, Alien Art community! I hope you're having a day with lots of sparkles.
A few days ago I watched the Frankenstein movie (I'd like to write a review for it, but I don't have much to comment on; the only thing I can say is that I love Jacob Elordi, hahaha), and, of course, that inspired me to make a drawing. However, the drawing didn't come entirely from my imagination; I made it similar to an image I found on Pinterest, and you can see the reference here.
Lately I feel like I've forgotten how to draw faces, so I'll start from the basics: a front-facing face, but yes, may the dark vibe always prevail. I present to you the process for drawing this Creature.

As always, I started from the sketch, using a circle split with a line down the middle so it comes out symmetrical. Right away, I sketch the facial features and the hair; the idea is to have a general idea to work from.
The next step was, instead of using an eraser to remove the guide lines, to blend with my finger over the whole area of the drawing.

I outline again the most important features of the face (eyes, nose and mouth) and make light shadows on them. Likewise, I outline the rest of the drawing and start making the lines of the scars, with a soft but thick stroke to give depth.

Making straight or zigzagging lines, I draw the stitches and make small circles where each stitch passes, to give the illusion of holes. Then, I blend again with my finger.

I add more shadows on the face, then pass an eraser over the areas where, I think, the light reflects the most.

Lastly, I add strokes to darken the hair. And with this, my drawing is finished.
What I liked most about this drawing is that it doesn't need to be aesthetic or neat; that's why I liked that the stitches came out messy. On the other hand, I like working with faces that have varied features, and that was the difference I made in relation to the reference image.
Anyway, I think this is a new technique I'll be applying to my drawings, do you think it's an improvement?
That's it for my post today, see you in the next one, mwah.
