I kept rewriting this poem until it felt true. Then I had to draw her. Sped it up a bit so you can see her grow.

Roses are red, lilies are white but sometimes I wonder, "what can you say about me?"
My birth is from a tree but within my flesh is a heartbeat.
A life form within but it says I'm not one of the trees.
From my veins are branches and at the tip lies the beauty.
From my heart come the roots and on the outside is my flowery bloom.
A beautifully decorated pink creature I am but for what I am called for the month is a Floral Fauna
She’s tree-born but the forest won’t claim her. Watching the roots form from her heart was my favorite part to draw.
