How did I survive?
You can’t drink before you thirst
If you always thirst.
I was dry but never knew
Parched but unaware
That the oasis
Was a mirage
I was in a desert
But thought it was lush
Not knowing I was crushed
And lacking.
My spirit was sapped
But I knew nothing
It’s just life I thought.
Normal isn’t always healthy
Or even “normal” when examined
Closely.
Sometimes evil lurks in a murky haze
Disguised as compassion.
But how can compassion
Create its own need?
Compassion need not protect one
From its giver.
The creator of chaos
Cannot swoop in and save the one who is destroyed.
Blame the victim
Something endemic to him
Circumstances cannot be the reason why
He cries out in pain.
How did I survive?
The grace of God.
The strength of will.
Ignorance of the truth
Until the right time.
And the boredom of chaos,
Who, when tired of me,
Moved on to destroy someone else.
I know it's been foooorever since I posted. Hopefully I will make up for my absense quickly as I have a lot of projects I have been working on in my spare time that y'all might enjoy. Have an awesome day!
I love that your artworks feel muted/lonely and at the same time evoke feelings of cozyness. Warm colors contradicting the single trace which resits the vast darkness.

The stripe was actually a fishing bobber my daughter was using that lights up in the water. I didn't even think about it at the time. It's kinda cool how random things sometimes add so much.

I was playing with long exposures while my daughter was fishing and I didn't realize she had a light up bobber on her line. I loved the effect so I just went with it lol
